Only Needs One New Part

Saw this on Craigslist.

I love the description. "Runs good but only needs one new part to run all the time".

What do you suppose that "one part" is? Maybe a spark plug or maybe a piston or a crankshaft?

What a stupid thing to say in an ad.

He did say it was an easy fix. Hey, makes me feel a lot better.

i see this stuff all the time.

3500$ tractor just needs a key switch.. no time to fix.. sacrafice. 1000$.

um.. why not put a 10$ switch in and get the other 2500$ right????

Easy fix. Take the radiator cap off and set a new tractor under it.

I just find it really strange that if it's such an easy fix and he knows what that "one new part" is, why doesn't he say what it is in the ad? I certainly would have.

My guess? Cuz it ain't true! LOL
The $2000 would be top dollar for that tractor around here running.
Flat tires, jungle gym loader, early model/front mount distributor,
grill missing, no other protection for the radiator, axles leaking, etc.

Hmmmmm, like some CL ads for pressure washers I've been looking at lately. " Small leak from pump, probably just a gasket". No, probably a crack from leaving it filled with water for the winter.

I e-mailed and asked what the one parts was that it needed:

"Hi the distributor is on the side. And it needs a new fly wheel. Part is about 120 to buy ans have shipped .let me know if interested. My mechanic was going to order parts and fix it for me. Than price will be going up. So oet me know thanks"

Just looked at one for a round baler. Hasn't been used in the last 4-5 years. No phone number. So I email the guy and ask if there is a tractor on site so a guy can see if everything works. He writes back, everything works, I've just been baling hay with it. So now I'm wonder if I should even go look at it. Cuase some way this guy is lying. He either hasn't used it in 4-5 years or it's being used now. Can't have it both ways.
