Only way i can post pics

Heres the way i found i can post pictures from my Samsung galaxy s24. Other models should have a similar way.

I first edit the photo by clicking the pencil option at the bottom of my phone.


Then I shrink the picture down to just the meat and potatoes, cropping out all of the background/ unnecessary stuff.

Then I click the 3 dots at the top of the phone and click the resize option. It gives me 5 different settings of 20% increments. 20% makes it blurry, anything over 40% doesnt work.


It then makes my 5-9mb picture turn into about 400kb. Anything over that won't post for me.

Also found i have to take pics farther away, giving me stuff to crop out and shrink. Had to retake a picture i wanted help with because by the time I cropped it there wasn't enough picture to help explain.

Don't think this site can handle photos from "modern" cell phone cameras.
I have a OnePlus 13 and it has 50mm cameras that can take photos equivalent to a high end 24mm full frame DSLR camera. In the 3000 x 4000 pixel range on lower settings.

There is much more behind this than people’s devices. I used to be able to post pics without an issue from my iPhone. That has all changed. Nothing that used to work does anymore. It’s not me or anyone else here. It’s not our phones or computers. It is an issue with the site. Too many having the same issues. I would think the people watching over the site would know what has changed recently. Sure there are ways sometimes around it. Bottom line is something has changed ! Personally I think it wouldn’t be that hard to discover a major change, but I do not deal with computers daily like the people in charge here do. Hopefully it will be resolved.

Yep I agree, I was just posting about what I did to get them to post. Pictures really help diagnose issues vs mis typed or misunderstood text.

I read a post about a guy trying to figure out a problem with his starting or charging system awhile back. Pretty long thread, and then the guy finally figured out how to post a picture and all of a sudden like 3 guys chimed in saying he had a wire in the wrong spot. Problem instantly solved from one picture.

I could post pictures fine until a couple weeks ago. Then they started posting sideways,then not at all. Same phone. And I have attempted to repost several pictures that I had posted in the last month,no go. It's ridiculous

I don't think anyone is denying there is an issue, but apparently it is acting different for different people. From what jkane posted he/she is not having the problem and can't duplicate it. We have seen intermittent issue with equipment lead to pages of discussion; it looks like this issue is going to be good for many threads and pages of discussion. And this site may not be jkane's only responsibility at the PartsASAP operation.

You also used to be able to click on and zoom in on the pictures folks post. None of that seems to work now unless you open the photo in a new tab and then the quality of the picture is so poor it soon turns to a blurry mess.

I agree. They are supposed to be as far as I know computer savvy. This has been going on for a while now and no updates from them. Strange. No problems here. Weird since it’s happening here to almost everyone. Some have figured out a few ways around it that work sometimes, but not correct or the way it was a short time ago. Something in the big picture changed and either we aren’t being told or they don’t want us to know. I would think a change like this would be easy to spot by someone in the know.

Nothing to figure. Today it posts. Tomorrow we will see. Just resize to medium and try. If not then go to small. Cannot post large. Before this glitch could post full size with no hesitation. Ipad always posted same as iphone. Not now. Very hit or miss. Ipad never posted sideways. Now only posts sideways.

Well ya you figured you can't post large. Resized to medium and it works for ya. I dont have an iPhone. My galaxy uses percentages as I stated in my first post. 40% is the best i can do. But I also tried doing that a few days ago and it wouldn't work. So maybe the moderators are working on it? Id be nice for an update from them.........

Also im not liking whatever else is going on here. I try to zoom in on a picture, but it needs two fingers to zoom. Once I let go it zooms back out. Hard to really see what's going on

They are on the other side. Also piped the turbo out on other side .

I took 3 pics with my Motorola phone, resized all 3. Site allowed 2 to post but not the 3rd.
