King Faud? As in Saudi arabia- noted to give a small price break to US for about 1/2 of its production- about $1.00 barrel. Iran doesn't sell to US anyway, Chavez does sell a fair amount to US, is number 3 or 4 supplier to US after Canada, Mexico, and Nigeria- maybe ahead of Nigeria. US doesn't have extra military to to a grab job and defend- If Clintons RIF hadn't passed then might have enough troops to rotate out of Iraq in a year. Maybe have nnalert recruit 100,000 new bodies from her Dem supporters, external_link another 100,000, Edwards 50,000- just about cover RIF. Could tell California no more refined gasoline or diesel to be sent to them- they can have all the Alaskan crude they want, just have to refine it in their state- they have capacity to do about 75%+ of their refinery needs, might have to drop the $1000.00 day/barrel fine threat for pollution and give construction permit to install scrubbers that have been held up 10 years. If the California political activists don't want to do that- they can ride bicycles or horses until hot rodders and Hells Angels thirsty for gas eliminate them. RN

Unfortunately most people fail to understand the fundamental problem here. The real issue here is that the dollar, already a fiat currency, is dropping like a stone against other currencies. The reason for the drop can be directly tied to the ruinous war in Iraq. The deficit spending to wage the war is diluting the dollar. If reports are to be believed, the new currency called the Amero is already printed and ready to replace the dollar. I am afraid that there are some interesting times ahead for our country.

I agree with you on that, sbin!! No difference in THAT attitude from a common thief sneaking into your barn at night or terrorists trying to extort decent, law-abiding folks.

Weak dollar will only get worse if we keep sending all our jobs and money overseas. Another problem with fuel prices is every state, city, county wanting a different fuel formula. Our government at work at it's worst. Time to tell the tree huggers enough is enough and have just ONE fuel blend for EVERYWHERE. This doesn't mean no gasohol or bio diesel, but rather the basic blend should be standardized. But, the big issue is our weak dollar. Do you think our grain prices are as high as they are because demand is that much higher? No, I think it is because our dollar is so weak that it makes our grain a relative bargain compared to the rest of the world. As long as we keep sending our money and jobs away I am afraid only going to get worse and worse. I could see this coming as soon as everything started saying Made in China or hecho en mexico. Not only are our prices for everything except cheap electronic goods going up, but our wages are going down. Let's go ahead and let every illegal worker get in and stay in, then see where we end up. I truly fear for our future, including the fact the IRS incentive checks is money we are borrowing from our future, IF we have one. Enuf for now, DOUG

We had an oil embargo back in the '70's. That was a red flag 30 years ago. I'm not going to ask why we haven't been drilling, building refineries, or get into politics...but that was 30 years ago.

Guess you all know where I'm coming from, so I'll leave it there. It aint going to get easier anytime soon.

ULSD is a farce,and I agree that they need one gasoline for everywhere.Weak dollar was old Ronnies idea of how to fix things,all of you all that loved him so well,see what you did?
There used to be reasons for having different grades of gasoline,but now it seems like its a scam.Another way to make you pay more.
It seems that both sides have problems dealing in reality.Its not good to ship our jobs overseas,its not good to have a weak dollar,its not good to have a war that costs 12 billion a week.
Yesterday I wrote my congressman about fuel prices,no answer yet,but he will probly send me one of those form letters in about a month,Im getting tired of it.However just like most people just gripe and dont do anything,he probly thinks that it doesnt make any difference,one guy like me doesnt matter.
Have you ever stood up and when you look around,nobody that was on your side is there to be seen?They leave you high and dry and on your own.If it looks like you are going to loose,they will not even recognize that they know you.
Its just like anything else,and politicians are famous for not doing what they are elected to do.If you just gripe on the internet about it,nothings going to happen.If people write letters,maybe show up at their office then sometimes they stop being a rubber stamp of a failed agenda.Thats whats wrong right now,they blindly followed like sheep,now they are going over the cliff.Stopping the tree huggers is just another thing like that.The tree huggers are paid for by some kind of people that get these weak minded individuals stirred up over something thats usually a lie.Next they get on TV with it,so to make a name for himself,Mr politician gets on TV and says he is doing something about it,usually the wrong thing.Both sides do it just in different variations of destruction to the good of the people.
I know,nobody has time,werent in school that thought it was a high priority to teach how to write so dont know how,have hard time expressing themselves,whatever.Well if a congressman had a million letters all on the same subject,it would be hard for him to ignore.It would take a little research to find out which ones can do something,then write them.The lame duck president probly wont do anything,but it will get out in the open that it is a farce maybe and expose what is really going on.Thats what it takes to change it cause politicians dont want to be exposed.
It is that the big shots want to make US,Canada,Mexico a big state,maybe even add Central America to form something,but its stupid,and if we dont let them know its stupid,they are cutting their own throat.What would a Senator in a New World Order that doesnt recognize our government be worth?Not much.Whats bad is that little bit of money Mr Congressman takes for a bribe costs us people dearly.It wont happen while the bribe takers are in office,its in the 5 years or so after they leave is when the destruction happens.Then the ones that take their place get blamed for it sometimes.Then we throw the good guy out and put another crook in,and on it goes.
Its time people wake up and figure out who is causing the problem and run them off,hopefully to prison where they belong.Then we need to keep a watch on the next ones,and if they start going the wrong way,get rid of them too.Now we are getting what Nafta caused,next it will be what Cafta caused,which is 12 times worse.Where is this coming from?Its not hard to look things up.Its hard to know if its true or not.Nafta,Cafta,and lots of other things,war,are doing damage.Its going to take lots of years to pay for that.Its time to do something about it.Its important to do whats right about it,not what sounds cool,or what some dumb person thinks.Its time to throw the nnalert out.Its also time to make the nnalert do what we want them to,not what they think looks good on TV or in a picture in the newspaper.I dont agree with running a woman or a black guy,but either of them is not a crooked,rubber stamp,communist,bribe taking nnalert.Not that all nnalert are bad,just most of them.
