You know I have been paying for a permit to carry handgun since 1963.I always thought it was uncontitutional,I have also refused to go to states that arrest you for carrying handguns.I know that a lot of prople have been sent to jail for carrying handguns. What now? Should I get my money refunded with interest.I could buy another 8N.. Your thoughts please..R.M. In AL.

If you/ve been carrying it concealed or not from and to a hunting or shooting area exclusively and don't have a concealed weapon permit, you've, in accord with our laws in Mich. been violating. Basicaly once you've registered your handgun it's registered until you tell them you disposed of it. No need to re-register, at least where I live.
If I read you right, you've been lucky. Ron

All this time I was right but as you say lucky.I have always been registered. But to charge someone for a constitutional right Irks me.

Dfferent take.I was talking about paying for a permit for 45 years. The others were talking about politions etc. What do you think about a person paying for the right to carry a pistol even then its only good in some states. Can you amagine buying 50 permits a year just to carry a pistol that is contitutional to begin with.

since we are simply consumers-or human resources-and not people anymore, and our our only reason for existing is to be breeding stock for corporations, the con-stitution is void. we only have rights if its not dark or light outside. RP

Don't know what your license registration fee is, but here in NYC my pistol permit is $340 for 3 years!!! Out on Long Island my friend pays(I believe) $10 for 5 years. Highway robbery the legal way. Now I heard in the news that someone here in NYC will sue the city for charging this exsorbitant(sp?) fee. The city's aim is (1) to make as much money as possible off us and (2) drive the cost so high that many people will eventually have to give up their gun. With the Supreme Court reaffirming the 2nd amendment I hope we will win the law suit and reduce our fees or remove altogether because I too am finding it difficult paying $340.

Well said Joe.Here the permit is $15 per year.Even then you can not take it to public places like parks, ballgames, etc. lol some right huh?

For $75 to $100 I can take a six hour class and get the permit to "carry concealed" here in Texas. I think it the gun has to be at least a .380, maybe a .38. If you qualify with an auto you can carry either auto or revolver. If you qualify with a revolver, that's all you can carry.
