Christmas is upon us and there is also somethin special we are gettin. How many are gettin a widescreen TV this year. I got a HP 42" and love it. Just to make this correct with the topic police Ma. don got me one of them quick change weldin helments. You all have a good Christmas season.

We just bought a 40" Sony KDL40V2500 LCD and we couldn't be happier. Our old 32" CRT Sony was starting to act up so we shopped around for a few months so we would know what to get and where when the time came.
Man, what a difference and I haven't upgraded to digital cable yet.

Our 25 year old 21" television quit on us about two years ago. I bought a new old school 32" television and have loved it ever since...

I think when we move to our new house and have our child, the cable company is going to lose a customer - then we won't have much need for the TV anymore, and we won't have an ADHD child to contend with. :)

I'm getting a bench grinder for christmas :-D

And a new farmall calender. And a book on farmalls. Thats all i know of.

I have had a 50 in. for 11 years now love every bit of it when watching a movie or some real good program.

The older I get though the more I sleep though a good program so I got that thing that records everything that I watch now when I wake up I can go back to where I fell asleep. Ain't Technology great.

I am dying for one of the new lcd HD sets. The picture clarity is amazing. I was watching a nature show at a friends house and it was wild. You could walk up to the set and the clarity did not diminish. You could have seen a tick on that snow leopard's back.

The wife wanted the TV out of the living room now that we have a huge family room with a 27 inch flat screen Sony. She wanted to keep the 2001 vintage TV in case the Sony failed. I want a new HD if the Sony fails... I gave the spare to the neighbor. Just biding my time....

Old age and cunning.....,

Aaron

Got one of them helmets a few years ago. Love it. Only problem with 'em,there is just an instant of a delay so you get a little bit of a flash at first. Another thing,if the sun's behind you, they darken with even more delay.

My first auto-darken helmet did that too. It was delayed just a bit but never bothered me when I was welding with a stick. Using it with a wire welder gave me flash burn the first time so I quit using it for wire. The only thing I can figure out is the first flash from the arc from a rod is shielded by the flux for just a blink, giving the helmet time to react. The helmet I use now is quite expensive, but it darkens instantly. My eyes are worth the extra price.

I wish my house had enough wall space for one of those big TV's. We have a couple of 19 inchers and they'll have to do the job for awhile. Jim

prolly new JD rubber floor mats, tools and truck accesories and prolly a new electric razor. al that i know of, no new tracots though. guess the wife just ain't got $250,000 fer a new tractor of the size that i want but that's OK. i'd end up hateing it anyway

The wife came home the other day real proud of herself saying she found my Christmas present. This is highly unusual as for the past dozen years I basically give her make, model and serial number of whatever and she goes and gets it. Not too romantic but she got sick of getting the wrong size, type, colour, capacity, voltage, offset, etc, etc and finally told me to just give her the vitals and be done with it. Can't wait to see what this is.

As for TVs most all my friends have the nice big flat screens now. Our damn Sanyo 36 inch CRT my dad gave us for a wedding present over a decade ago just won't quit and that's the only way I'm gettin leave to buy anything else. Course, if it were to tip off the tv stand some time by accident because of the cat...

We do have a nice little Philips HD flat screen in the bedroom and it has a real nice picture to it.

Aloha,
Just went to use my helmet today and found out that the batt was leaking. I cleaned it up so if you don"t use it often, leave the batt. out.

Mahalo,

My problem with those big TVs is that I can't see the point spending $1500 for a TV to watch shows that aren't worth 10 cents.

I would like to have a big eraser to erase all the commercials on TV. Not worth watching, any size or shape if you can/t avoid them.
