When I read GB's post below, I got to wondering which can get me in trouble sometimes. GB said he has been married for 48 years and Bill(OH) is almost to 48 years. I'm almost to 38 years.

How long has others on the board been married and who has been married the longest?

Danny

Guess you got me beat- I've only been around 34 years... 35 this July, married 5 years, one day after my birthday. (at least I should remember our anniversary that way!)

I'm sure I'm younger than a few of you out there unless you got hitched at age 12. The wife and I have been married for 31 years and together for 36. Congratulations to all, it doesn't work that way now a days.

Depends on how you are counting......I've been married 39 years, 16 to the first one & 23 to the second one! I figure I'm housebroken by now.

20 years to my first wife.

(she's my last wife, too)

We graduate the first of our two sons from high school this year... She home educated him all the way, and deserves a medal. I'm buying her a new kitchen instead.

Come April 3, it will be 38 years for us. We had 5 kids, and soon to be 8 grandkids. One of the kids, and 4 of the grandkids are pretty gung-ho about 8Ns and other ole-iron.

The "for sure" part is that the years have gone by much faster than I could have imagined. At work, I was always "the young guy" with less seniority and got the left over jobs. But one day, suddenly, I was the old guy, and was told by the boss to get out of the way of the young people with their enthusiasm and "good ideas". If they had the experience to back up their claims to the "good ideas" I would have gladly moved aside. My career ended much like that old country song with the now retired singer's line "Hey Onie!!" where he got even with the evil nasty boss.

You all have a good day!!

36 wonderful, exciting, joyous years to the same beautiful woman...............that went menopausal on me five years ago and is absolutely driving me insane.......AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Help me!!! Isn't there some dispensation in the laws for striking a wacked out menopausal lunatic??????????
Sorry, I got carried away there........she'll be OK, she'll be OK.........she'll be OK, she'll be OK........

36 years to the same woman.

We have 4 kids ---only 1 of them married, 3 grandkids and an upcoming wedding in May.

2 Grandsons love the 8N tractors.

Me personally, I still have 100% all original parts---though some of them need rebuilding!

Tim

Lee,

lol!!!

I remember those days. It does get better somewhat. There are still times that the Devil takes her over! lol I thought that was just part of the female personality! I'll deny I ever said that! lol

Our anniversary is on April fools day and we have been been married for forty years. We have three children and they have two each, so we have six grandkids divided evenly at three boys and three girls.

13 years to the wrong woman (but who gave me three excellent boys) and 7 years to the right one (who understands my N Disease!).

Dan

She's finally starting to settle down some. I think we may live through this. I think you're right on target about it being a part of the female personality though. LOL!

28 1/2 wonderful years, but my wife has just started chemo for stage IIIc ovarian cancer so I don"t know how many more we will have. I hope to make the most of what we do have left though.

Jay - I just sent up a prayer for you and your wife - My wife and I wish you the best.

As for the poll:
SWMBO and I will have been married for 6 years this May. We've been "together" for 12 years this month (first date for both of us, too). We've got one 2 1/2 year old boy, and another that's arriving on the 31st of this month. Just one tractor, but will have two boys.....I'll have to do something about that.

38 years on 7/25/08. 2 boys, lost one in '99 in an avalanche. No grandchildren yet, one 2N, one Siberian Husky, one 1953 MG TD (first car purchased 5/5/65 so I've had it longer than the wife).

44 years tomorrow except for one day I took off back on 12-22-83@10:30 AM until 12-23-83@4:30PM. Got married at 18 and am now 62 1/2.

You and your wife will be in my prayers as well. They've come a long way in treating cancer in the last few years. I pray that hers will be a success story.

Looking back it don't seem that long.
Bob

Married 34 years to the BEST women in the world. She came with me willing to the rural life from Chicago where we were both born. I thought she could only make reservations when we live in Chicago found out when we moved to Eastman she is a great cook.Wouldn't trade her for the world, hope she feels the same.

Mine is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 red and white Victoria Hardtop.
The Mercury Comet was a nice car. Is your's still in good condition?

In 1984 I bought a '63 Comet S-22 convertible for the wife. It didn't have power steering, so she almost never drove it. Sold it in '89. I loved that car.

my first car was a 62 comet,,, financed it thru the garage I werked for,,, $5 a week,,,, I brought a 63 S-22 that looked zackly like it around 1987 for $100,,, sold it with all the other old cars i had 'bout 2003 when I built my new shop,,, It ran great,,, I lost interest in'em so let'em go.

Back to the subject,,, My wife is married but I am not,,, I think shes been married for 30 years,,, dated some jackarse for for seven years,,, shes got 3 more years of marriage then all the cob-heads will B Thur collage,,, then she kin B free like me ....

My uncle had a nice 57 hardtop that same color. My Comet suffered a lot from the salt on the WI roads in the winter. Many years ago I did rebuild most of the metal underneath but never followed through on the rest. I do have all of the rust free pieces to make a nice car but raising a family and just going through life kind of made that take the back seat. Maybe this year it will happen, but I have said that before. Tractors are easier to restore. :o))

I've been trying to understand my wife for 30 years. She's my wonder woman. Never a dull moment. She's several women rolled into one. After 30 years she finally understand it when I say to her, I have all the women I need right here at home. The only thing we agree on is our love for each other.
Why go out for hamburger, when you can have steak at home....

Married 37 yrs to the same woman and looking forward to retiring to Michigan's U.P., that has to show how much I hate snow! One grandchild and two tractors, that's a start!

On May 11/08 will be 40 yrs for me , believe me it feels at least that long, but could'a been worse.
I already got her 1/3 trained. 8^)

every-one welcome.

Jay:
You and your wife are in my prayers.
I am presently on meds for prostate cancer (Gleaon = 9. removed last year, but it had metastasized, so no cure). I urge all to get your PSA every year - I skipped one year and it went from 2 to 10 in 18 months. I intend to keep on keeping on as it's now up to the Cleveland Clinic and the Good Lord - done all I can do.

I'll be married 4 years in Nov. First wife and hopefully the last. SInce Ive been married to her ive collected 12 tractors 8) Least it aint cars and such anymore

I'm almost 51 & been married so many times I got rice burns on my back. This one has stuck around for 9 years (I think) If she ever leaves I'm going with her.
We've got one daughter, almost 7, who thinks it's cool she's got the oldest Dad in her class at school! Lord love her......

Yes, Jim , I kinda figured that would make some people think. During the 1yr. separation from the first wife waiting for the divorce, I became convinced who the next one should be, so she went to the courthouse with me to finalize the divorce and when I got the papers at 10:30 I headed out the courthousedoor to Chesterfield,SC and applied for the license and got married there the next day at 4:30PM. First one lasted 19 yrs and 10 months. This one will be 25 years this year. She is doing good, so far. We think this one might last, if she can finish this changing thing, if you know what I mean! I hope that makes sense , now, when I say, I have been married 44 years except for one day that I took off. I had to wait 24 hrs. after getting the license in SC before we could get married.

35 years on July 28th to the same wonderful woman. One son who at 25 years young gets married in three weeks.
