OT Ford truck question

Hello-

I am considering purchasing a 1999 F-350 with the 7.3L and auto trans. Approx 145k miles.
Aside from the cylinder cavitation issues, which I will check for, are there any other issues to watch for? How durable are these automatics?

Thank you for any advice!

The auto in this truck is prone to go out and it is not cheap to fix :(

Thank you for the replies.

I went to the forum, and read of MANY problems with the auto trans.
I think I will pass on this one, and find a manual trans.

If there is one place that has MORE stoopidity than yt.stupid, it IS thedieselstop.stewpid.
Nothing there but a bunch of wannabee truck drivers, high schoolers dreaming of their first 'truck', and worthless a$$holes who have 'chipped' their truck, caused serious and expensive damage, and now are crying because Ford will not fix it under warranty.
