OT - Howdy Texas

I'm an often reader, seldom contributer, but just wanted to say howdy to our Texas friends. I'm in San Antonio this week visiting with my son. He lives on the northwest side of San Antonio just off of hwy 1560/Culebra.

I'm enjoying the weather, the bad stuf went to the west of us and north of us. The closest thing to work this week is assisting my son in installing a garage door opener.

I saw either a 2n or 9n on 1650 while driving by the other day.....looked like it was for sale, but didn't stop.

Back to work next week.

Glad to hear the storms missed ya. All we got was 5 1/2 - 6"s of rain and a little wind. I had a friend from the U.P. Michigan stop by for a day. He came in behind the worst part. I live south of the DFW area. Have a nice trip home.

Drive up 281 going toward Fredricksburg and view the pink and white 8N, if it is still there. I have a picture somewhere in my files from last year while there.

Pretty dry around here...only 4.25" of rain. We're just north of Dallas, but my daughter is in school down near you in San Marcos.

When do you go back, sunday?

I think I could make it a habit visiting Texas. The weather has been beautiful the past week. Things are a little dry here, but I bet I could get used to that. Back home, we are having floods (so. Indiana), so I hope I make it home ok Sunday. My daughter said that many roads are closed due to the flooding.

That pink 8N is just north of Blanco, about 30 mins north of SAT airport. Next town is Johnson City (where you turn west to go to Fredricksburg...a really great place to take your favorite lady and let her shop main street in the old German town, while YOU visit the Admiral Nimitz museum and sip a few local brews in the local brew pubs.)
I live just north of there, near the intersection of hwy 281 and hwy 71 on the Colorado R.
Come back in mid April thru early May and be dazzled by the hill country wildflowers/bluebonnets, then again in June by the Peach harvest, wineries, and lavender farms near Fredricksburg.
(music) "I saw miles and miles of TEXAS...."
