OT-hydraulic toplink

I found this 2-way hydraulic cylinder(at a bargain price)awhile back thinking it might make a good toplink for the 165 or 860:

As you can see it has a ball on one end, but it needs a 2-way swivel(or whatever you call it)to make the other end work. I'm thinking something like you see on the end of the adjustable toplink that came w/ the old Ferguson terracing blade.

I've looked for something at Grainger, SurplusCenter, Northern Tool, & HF.....no luck. Any ideas where else I might look?

It would look like the piece at the top of each lift link....the little 2-way swivel piece that attaches to the upper lift arm....knuckle?

I know EXACTLY what you are thinking of... the part circled in red in this photo...

I checked jdparts.com for a price on the one shown, but the system is down tonight.

It would be SIMPLE to fab the part from a piece of flat with a hole dilled in it welded to a length of heavy-wall tubing, or just simply weld a second ball swivel to the hydraulic cylinder, just like a generic manually-adjustable toplink uses.

Jeff.......CAUTION: as seductive as being able to "adjust yer toplink length" hydraulically sounds; too long and you will LIFT yer reartires and suddenly NO TRACTION. Most cylinders like you display are used in "folding wings" on large frame tillage equipment. You fold the wings for narrow transport, down for field operation. Sometimes the frame trailering wheels are hydraulically uppsie'n'downsie'd for field operation too.......Dell

Yep...thats it, whatever you call it. Thats a good idea about the piece of flat(drilled)welded to some heavy tubing.

I just recently made a hydraulic top link for my 1955 660. I had a cylinder with four inch bore and 1" rod that I had once used on a home made front blade. I cut the ends off an old beat up threaded top link and welded the ends to the cylinder ends and ran hoses to it from my remote spool control valve. I was using my box blade and haveing to get off and twist the top link each time I wanted to change the cutting angle. Not anymore. I just touch the remote control valve and it tilts the box blade to what ever angle I want it without my having to get off the tractor

4" bore! Man, that must look like a cannon mounted back there.

I'm looking forward to using my rear blade & box blade w/ my hydr. toplink too.

Dell,

Since there is no down pressure on the tractor's lift arms, how can lifting the rear tires off the ground be accomplish with only the hydraulic top link?
