I went thru a bronchoscopy today, my throat is really sore, and it is hard to talk. They put me to sleep for it.

Doc told the Ole Lady while I was still out, that he felt sure that it was small cell lung cancer, and it was aggressive. (small cell is not good) http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/content/CRI_2_4_1X_What_is_small_cell_lung_cancer.asp?sitearea= They think it is alrady in my lymph nodes.

That the treatment would be intravenious chemo.

He is supposed to call me tomorrow and talk to me.

I don't think the pathology report will be back till tomorrow.

Boy howdy! not great news, but you can do it!! Talked to my pal today (oldest crony), he has been doin' the 'good fight ' for over 6 yrs. His deal is all over the place but his last test results were not negative -best when no news is... Take care, a positive attitude has worked wonders for my pal, they should work for you. We're rootin' for ya. b

Like others are saying, keep a positive attitude and do what the Doc says. I have a next door neighbor who has been hangin in there for 3 years & he says he gets a "renewal" from the Doc every 6 months.

Dunk, I have a buddy whose wife was diagnosed with Hodgkins ( which is also in the lymph glands), she had the chemo, it made her tired and weak but she is back to her mormal routine now. So hang in there! How are you doing with the quiting smoking?

my prayers go out to you Dunk,,do whatever the doc wants, dad was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer, he hemmed and hawed around about chemo and radiation. Finally decided to do it,they got it all but he had waited too long and since small cell moves fast it hit his brain,he has been gone 2 years next week. Not trying to scare you or anything that way, just saying get it done now whatever it is they want to do.. GOD Bless..Jim and Kali

All hopes and prayers for sure and speedy recovery,I and mine will be praying for You.Believe me it helps knowing so many are pulling for You.---lha

Thanks for the update Dunk - You know we're all pullin' and prayin' for you.

My boss just went through a bout with colon cancer and beat it. He was on the ropes from the chemo but he staid the course and whupped it and I know you can too.

Dunk, sorry to hear of your report. Know that your friends are all thinking of you and wishing you a fast and full recovery. Will keep you in our prayers.

The doctor told me there was nothing to a bronchoscope. Apparently he has never had a bronchoscope!!!! My throat was sore and the night after I had it I had chills and fever of 103 all night. Was taking antibiotics before I had it and after. Still was sick as a horse! Did you know that Doctors sometime lie????

Hope you get good results with the chemo Dunk.

Hope you've managed to kick the habit.

I'm pretty sure I'd be dead by now if I had not quit my three pack a day of Lucky Strikes 40 years ago. Hard to kick it but worth every bad day it took to kick it.

DELL.....years ago I taught a course for the ROTC students at a local college. 'Bout 7 yrs. worth. They openend the course to the "civilian students". Amazing how many selected phycholocy and POLITICAL SCIENCE as their majors. The civilians said "the easiest courses in any college". I quit after the last ROTC student left for Iraq during GEORGE the 1st. presidency.

I kept telling the Poli-Science students to stay in school to get their Masters if they ever want to run for President! ;)
