(quoted from post at 12:38:52 03/09/10) I don't mormally get into exchanges like this but I have been looking at this forum long enough to know that Dunk won't post like this unless there is something going on in his life that is bothering him. If that is in fact the case, and I think it is, I wish ya well,Dunk
Chris

There have been many things going on in my life that I am having a very hard time dealing with. Most of them I will not tell on here, as they are family realted.

I am going to let you guys in on one of them that got confirmed today.

After spending this whole beautiful '70s degree day in the hospital ER, instead of in the back yard where I wanted to be...

I have been hurting [b:e0b53bc649]badly[/b:e0b53bc649] in my left chest side since Wed., and realized that I was spitting up blood yesterday.

I have been poked, prodded, listened to, injected, blood drained, x-rayed, blood dyed, CT scanned, probably more that I can't think of right now....

Diagnosis lung cancer.

Doc says it is caught early, and they may be able to fix it, by removing the top part of my left lung, I have to talk to the lung Dr. the first of the week.

Prayers requested.

Thanks for putting up with me all of these years guys.

Dunk,Sorry to hear that my friend. You will be in my prayers and may God heal you and give you a speedy recovery.

No need to worry , external_linkcare will save us all , but I'll keep ya in my prayers just in case .

Glad they caught it early , success rates are very high when treated in the early stages .

Hey Dunk, Sorry to hear about your situation and our prayers are with you and your family. I'm just two mountains over from you in Dawsonville, Ga. and would be glad to help you out in any way I can during these tough times. Hang tough, be strong. E-mail me if it pleases you. James & family

Man, am I sorry to hear this. As you know I had my turn at fighting cancer this year. It is not fun, however the fight can be won. I wish you the best and pray for you and the skill of your doctors.

Always your friend, joe

Dunk this aint the end of the road. Have faith and hang in there, do not give up until the dirt is thrown in your face. I had a similar situation a couple of years ago and I am still here and in pretty good health. I and my church will be praying for you. May God bless you.

Don't give up on yourself just yet! I have known a lot of very ill people who beat the odds and some of them in my own family. Sounds like your doc has a plan and you have a lot of friends praying for you. If you weren't a smoker, make sure they check you all over from the knuts and bolt on up. God bless.

Dunk, my father in law had that very thing about three years ago, they removed the top lobe of his left lung surgically and got all the cancer out in one swoop. Did not need chemo or radiation at all.

It wasnt a lot of fun recovering from the surgery, he was pretty sore puppy for a while. But he got through it and is still among us and doing great now.

You can get get through this too. You have a lot of friends here and we are all praying for you to be strong and pull through this.

No one else posts as good of music as you do. Hang in there, there's always sunshine after a storm, no matter how bad a storm.

You have our prayers, Dunk. Hope you can let go of your other troubles & focus on getting well.

God bless you & yours,
Jeff

Dammit!!! Prayers set!

Dunk, you don't know me, but I've learned a good bit by reading your wisdom here. My FIL has battled colon, then lung cancer for the past 4-5 years, and is still doing well inspite of the chemo. I'll have you in my prayers.

WOW! - Sorry to hear that Dunk,

Your prayer request honored - Lots of em coming your way.

One phase to use with the big C. - "Get really aggressive, really quick". No delays.

Get well soon

Dunk, as you know, like the weather, this is totally in the hands of God in Heaven and the Drs. He is directing. I Know because I am a 56 Y/O
cancer survivor. At that time there was no treatment available and I have been left here for some reason anyway. Pray, Trust in God and I believe His will will be done.

Well that was a kick in the balls at 6:oo am.
Really sorry to hear that Dunk!
After all this time reading your input and putting your advise and knoledge to use, I feel like I know you personally.
Thank God the docs caught it early.
You can beat this man, we're all praying for you!!!

Sorry to hear the bad news Dunk. Hang in there! Medicine has come a long way in treating cancer and other things in the last 10 years. I am living proof of it. I had an adminal aortic anurysm 15 years ago and it was replaced with an inner tube from a bycycle tire. (actually a plastic sleeve) I'm still here at 74 and able to do nearly anything I want to. Glad you had sense enough to get to the doctor early.

It is impossible to be fearful and faithful at the same time. Make sure you choose faith! Lots of survivors of this type of cancer, but a positive attitude and strong faith are important medicine.

Prayers for you from here, God Bless you and your family.

Don't ever like to hear of trouble. Wife's uncle had one whole lung removed in the 1960's and continued his carpentry/building work for another 35 years, retired & traveled the country playing Blue-Grass for another decade, just saw him last week & still kicking strong. A good example of 'it doesn't have to get ya'. Expect the hardest part is the worry of what-iffin.
Hang in there with positive attitude. Wishing you well, soon.

Dunk, I know you must be in a terrible state of mind right now but look at it as just another of life's hurdles to get over.

Going through what's ahead of you won't be a walk in the park but you seem like a very determined guy - When you set your mind to something, you see it through.

God bless you and please keep us posted on your progress.

I have to dispute you, sir. You listed this topic as "OT," but it's not.
It's you and people like you who make so much possible for the
rest of us in the "N" world -- so please consider yourself very ON-
topic. Please keep us updated on your progress -- and we DO
expect progress. God bless you.

Dunk it's all about attiude, just like you know you can fix that N.Know that you can be fixed. With all your friends praying for you me included miracles happen everyday.yeow

Wow - that is some sobering news to wake up and read this morning. Of course you have my prayers for recovery and many more years on this rock. One thing I will say - put that spring I sent you to work! My comment is not really about just the spring - but the fact you never used it because you feared you would break it. Live life to the fullest NOW, every day. We all never know how many we have been blessed with.

Hang in there bud - with Gods help you can beat this.

Dan

Dunk- Always a bad thing to hear but you can beat this,I know you can.
Give em hell.
Prayers out for ya.
God Bless
Chris

Sorry to hear of your condition. You will be kept in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. Wishing you and your family all the best.

Dunk,

There is not much to say that hasn't already been said. I enjoy your posts, and hope to enjoy them for many more years. You have given help to an uncountable number of folks, and you've given hel_ to a few others. Well now it is time to focus that energy on getting better. It won't be easy, but you never have been a quitter. Like so many others here, you are a survivor, not a victim. Survivors seek knowledge, find help, make a plan, focus their energy, fight the battle, and enjoy the final success. I have total confidence in your abilities to overcome this difficult challenge.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Dunk:
Just look at all the replies you have gotten regarding your state of affairs! That must tell you just how much respect you have from the guys on this forum. Now channel that into prayers, well wishes and general support and there is little chance for that cancer to get the upper hand.

Keep a positive attitude and get in there and fight this thing!!

I also [b:b4aea07c89]know[/b:b4aea07c89] there are many that have provided prayers that didn't post.

God Bless us all.

Dunk, you have to believe. My family has had our share and I believe. Cancer can be cured.
My mother had cancer in 1968. She died of old age in 2000. My baby sister had cancer over 30 years ago. She has two adult children and a grandson. My wife had cancer 12 years ago. She still kicks my butt about some of my tractor escapades. Our daughter had cancer 4 yearas ago. Her last check-up was GREAT! I BELIEVE!

Today is the first day I have had to visit YT board in a long time and
I run across your email. I am currently at home following surgery 3
weeks ago. I will be praying for you as many of my friends prayed
for me. On the way to the surgery I received a phone call from one
of those prayer warriors and the reminder of that prayer put me at
ease before the surgery. Looks to me that many of these folks are
prayer warriors too. Thank you for sharing your health issue so we
can pray for you. I just finished my first prayer for you. TJ

Dunk: Sorry to hear of your health problem. Hope that you hear that it is a benign tumor or at least a very non-aggressive malignant one. Be assured that those of us here the the Big Sky country are rooting for you. Wishing you the very best. Dr. Bert

"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working."

May the Lord be glorified through this experience, and give you strength and hope, Dunk.
