You should have smelled the dogs after they rolled in the fish that died.</p>

Nope, just left her the for perspective for the pic.

But easily could be anywhere inside the plowed ring.

Hey, Dunk, maybe it is like you, got a small leak down near it's bottom. Just kidding, I hope we all can get some good rains soon. Chance of PMTS today her today, the weather forcasters say. Probably won't be nothing but just PMS and I don't mean P. M. thunderstorms. The wife is off today, I Mean the other type of PMS.

Dunk be careful doing what your doing. I have done the same thing off and on over the years with a couple of my ponds and have gotten stuck more then once. You would not believe how much fun it isn't to get a IH-TD-6 dozer unstuck when you do get one stuck.

Good time to make it a few feet deeper, and get some good soil to add to your garden. Your maters will love all that sediment and fish poop

Hey Dunk, do you have any livestock that rely on that pond (or should I say puddle)?

Been raining off and on all weekend here. We really needed it. I haven't had to cut grass for weeks (a good thing, I suppose).

Dunk - mine's not quite that bad (yet), but I am approaching the point where I'm going to have to make a choice between the fish and water for the garden. Driest 2 months here in many many years. Hope we all get some rain soon......

No, thank goodness, no animals at this time.

I would have to be as worried about feed as bad as water if I did.

I am sure beef and horse people are loosing their shirts right now around here.

Hay is just about non exastant from what I understand, and this is hay season.

See the green stuff growing in it?

The Ole Lady got some of this water grass stuff out of one of the local creeks a couple of years ago and put it in my pond without telling me.

That stuff had it choked before it started drying up.

I've got to get that stuff killed and out of there.

Dunk........NOWS the TIME to put a "dip-stick" in the middle of yer pond so you can set up on yer porch witha cool one and not haffta guess how deep yer pond is. I have a seasonal water table pond in my pasture. I bought a 10-ft length of WHITE sewer drainpipe and marked with adhesive reflective house numbers (nite-time reading) everyfoot. I pounded a steel fencepost in center area of pond and slipped the "dip-stick over the top. Last winter, water table level "topped" my 10-ft dip-stick. (grin) right now its about 6-in and will be "dry" by 4th July.

What ever you do, don't let cattails start growing 'cuz yer pond will be declared a "home" for the rare and endangerd georga snail darter ...or... is it the rare and endangered georga groaker??? And you'll haffta haul water to protect them. Don't laff, it happens out here........Dell

I have a 24" scoop, that I need to do a bit of work on, but I will probably just use the scrape blade again, like I did the last time it went dry, somewhere around the mid, to latter '80s I think it was (I dug about 3' out of the bottom of it then).

I had, raised 17 hogs in that pasture just before that trying to stop it from going dry, and it didn't work, but it sure did stank!!

After I dug it out with the scrape blade back then it has held till now, but I have never seen it this dry in my 51 years here.

My Dad bought this place and him and my 2 Grandads cut the timber off the place and built the house in 1948 (although I have made lots of changes over the years, it is still the same original house frame).

It has only "rained" about 6 times here this whole year (6 months), most of those were brief evening thunder showers.

hey dunk put a plug in it... you might try roll a lttle more see it help.. you might try to put hard base in it... mine all fill in and gone yeah..
put some blue rock in it and take care of the fish problem and pump some more water in that pond if that what you call.. right now mud hole ...

I got up this morning and had just over 1/4" of rain in my gauge from a shower overnight. TV radar was showwing one this morning but I didn't get any more, just thunder. I went just south of me. Every little bit helps. I saw the AM shower today reached aall the way down into SC just a little.

Wish I could share some. I think we have had more then are fair share this year. Raining now and more on the way!! Sun is peaking out now and it is still raining!!!
