OT pants sizes

Yea,that's right,pants sizes. I've worn 32 inch length since I was a teenager. Been wearing bibs for about as long. Always wore Libertys from TSC. Started out 30x32,got up to a 38x32,still getting bigger. Well,just like everything else,TSC stopped selling Liberty,they sell Schmidt or some such thing. I bought a pair of 40x32 and they come down past my toes. Wife found some Libertys at JC Penney.Ordered 40x32 and they're longer than the TSCs. Sent'em back,ordered 40x28,they came today and fit perfect. Something in my pants might be gettin shorter,but it ain't my legs! What gives?

It"s the way pants are cut from a pattern - the manufacturers assume that the "hiney" will be roughly round so they build pants to hold a shape - like a grapefruit half - with the same diameter as the waist. If the pants are too long for your legs you probably have a corresponding droop where big jim and the boys hang out.

Top of inseam to waist has to be different between the pair. "Regular" fit versus "Full" fit will change that. Also different manufactures will vary in the fit. Send a letter to the comapny in Singapore or Malaysia and tell them of the problem.

I hate pants... especially buying pants because it seems that every time I go the legs get shorter and waist gets bigger. :?

I can"t find 28" inseams on anything, no matter what the waist size. Every pair of pants I get has to be shortened. My legs are just fine, reach the ground OK!

Just wear them lower.

Yeah, I can still get into my old 32x36 jeans, but it sure ain't comfortable! I spend more time sitting these days and the 36" waist is more comfortable... :roll: The diet starts in about a month after my baby girl is born and we get moved into our new house... :wink:

Acually that is when the excercise starts. Slow at first and faster as they get older.

You have the same problem I have,we both are shrinking in Heighth. In 1955 I was 5'11" and now I have to stretch to make 5'9". Age has got us going the shorter route.

Just like the "Whopper" and other things that have shrunk over the years....My britches have too...About 4 sizes.......It only took 30 years to accomplish....Yeah, little Hooli shrunk too.....

Getting the right size is important. But also how you wash them makes a lot of difference in the comfort factor.

What kind of fabric softener do you guys think works the best?

I wear 38-38 jeans but, I wear 36-36 bibs. Usually buy mine at TSC or Orschlens.

I've been wearing the same size Levi's for at least twenty years. So I go into the store, grab a pair, bring them home and run them through the wash a couple of times to break them in. That night, my wife and I are going out, so I put on my brand new Levi's. They seem a bit tight, but the cuffs are halfway up my shins! Just then my wife walks in and starts laughing--I look ridiculous!

Yes, those new Levi's were marked with the wrong size. And the kicker: they fit my wife perfectly!

When Levi's quit giving money to the Boy Scouts of America because the BSA didnt want to have "GAY" scout masters watching our young children during camp outs I quit giving my money to Levi's! I will NOT give them the satisfaction!

tsc still carries liberty i bought a pair about 3 months ago. also check your local tsc manager he/she should be able to order you a pair. the only thing is you would have to pay for them upfront. i believe they are going to start phasing the schimdts out and go back to liberty.

I just went to Goodwill, half-off day, found several pair too long for $2 - $3.50 some never worn....Took mulehides to Alterarions for $3 and just roll up the legs on the olde ones.
A bit of bleach or whatever and a stint in the dryer kills most everything or repeat a couple of times for the squeamish....I did a stint in a health lab....
