OT prayer request for fallen Deputy

Asking for some prayers for a Deputy. Yesterday a Keokuk County Deputy Sheriff was shot and killed when two other officers and himself arrived to a rural house to question the homeowner. He was survived by a daughter, sister, and father.

I have a good friend that just changed careers and started working as a policeman. After hearing all he has to deal with in our little town, which I had no idea until I heard it first hand, I worry about his safety.

This hits close to home. God bless the families of these fallen peace keepers and our prayers are on the way.

My husband is becoming a police officer and it is said how many have died this year. 138 or so died last year and 56 this year alone. This is all very sad. My prayers are with his family. Very sorry for there loss.

I am a Deputy sheriff in middle tenn, I know first hand what his family is going through. Two years ago my Sgt. and myself and another deputy were shot at, my Sgt. was hit in the face with a 357 mag. He lived,but every time I walk up to house, I think about it. It makes farmming look better every day. I was raise on a farm. These durg head do not care, because the court don,t do any to them, they put the cops on trial. I have four years before I can retire, I pray God I can live that long, to get there. I WILL be praying for his family. God bless him for his service

I am always saddened when I hear of anyone being killed especially shot...

But your post doesn't say much other then you want prayers for the fallen Deputy... I find it rather Odd that three Deputys go to a rural house to question the homeowner and one Deputy gets shot and dies.

Your post says nothing about why 3 Deputys go to a rural house and want to question the homeowner, that in itself tells me that 3 Deputys going to a house to question the homeowner is too much of a show of force if you ask me.. but then again no one asked me.

I know that cops lie, steal, and use too much power and intimidation, think about it, what would you think if not one but 3 Deputys came to your house?

Article sheds some more light on the situation. My only thought on this is this: I wish the people who want to commit suicide by cop or want to get in gunfights with cops would just man up and do the job themselves. It's getting very depressing to read or watch the news and see all these people doing this stuff. If you want to "go", then go. Just don't take anywone with you when you do.

At the time I posted, we still did not have much information on the events that took place. It was noted in one source that the suspect had run-ins with the police before, hence the 3 officers arriving.

Having more than one officer is safety in numbers and can actually reduce the amount of excessive force used by ending a physical confrontation quickly.

Actually 1% off cops are bad 1% but that 1% makes them all look bad. 3 cops are not to much these days at all. Heck your lucky to get three cops with all the cut backs. For example When a Women police officer goes to a store to investigate a robery and follows foot prints to a trailer park and is taking picture and walks to the door where they lead and a man shoots her in the face with a shot gun one cop is not enough. So you are right what do you know? Until you have to put your life on the line everyday there isnt much you do know. If there is a stand off with 10 cops and one shooter there may be one that doesnt get to leave. It is a good thing the brought 3 cops sad the one was killed. My husband has shown me so many videos he has had to watch in the academy and it is unreal the thing people will do to take these peoples life over a minor trafic violation. God bless all our police men and women and our troops they all need it. It is only getting worse and my paryers are with them and the families even the ones who have passed away. It kills me people want to monday quarterback things like this. How would you feel if it was your family or friends that this happend to and people wrote some of this crap. ITS JUST UN AMERICAN!!!!!
