Howdy,
Way OT, but I like to ask someone with first hand experience. Doc says I have bursitis in my shoulder, gave me a cortozone shot & sent me on my way. It helped somewhat, but not a heck of a lot. Anybody else suffer with this?, and any tips?
Thanks,
Bob S.

I got bursitis about 35 years ago. Mine was in arm at elbow. I went to Dr. several times and didn't think it was doing any good so I stopped. My next door neighbor was a chiropractor. One time across the fence I was telling him about it. He told me to come to his office and he would fix it. I thought I was in for a rub job, but no. He had something that resembled a hand held microphone that he plugged in a electric plug. He, just lightly touching, moved it all around from just just below elbow to just below shoulder. It made my arm so hot I thought I was going to be blistered but it didn't. Told me to come back in 1 week and 1 more treatment would do it. I thought, no I ain't gona do that again, I'll make some excuse. You know in a few day it was better so I went back for the other treatment. In another week or so it was all gone and I haven't had it since.

I suffered for about 3 years, any sudden arm and shoulder move and shear pain.
Daughter made an appointment at her physiotherapy
for me. . .
This 20 something girl said come with me, I thought what could she know. (smerk)
She checked it out bent it this way and that, then put in about 10 acupuncture needles heated some twirled some, never hurt a bit. Showed me an exercise to do stand almost in the doorway feet together elbows bent hands on doorway lean in push back do 10 times every day.
She called it a frozen shoulder.
I only had 3 visits, pain has been gone for about 12 years now. Sometimes when it starts to hurt I do the exercise and it goes away.

Oh I did have cortisone shots (the Dr must have been 90) for it, before the physio girl it didn't do any good.

Hope it gets better real soon.

To make it tractor related I couldn't steer the tractor because of the pain.

I had bursitis twice in one shoulder years ago. I had cortisone shots and it slowly went away. probably over the course of two months.

Had it several years ago, not pleasant. Doc gave me some resistance exercises to do and it went away after a while.

go to someplace like TSC and get you a bottle of absorbine gel (smells a lot better than the normal stuff. Fix the problem instead of hiding the symptoms (cortisone shots)..... while you're there (same section), find something like MSM for joints and dose it down to your weight and take it 2 or 3 times a week. You'll be surprised at the results if you generally have sore/painful joints.
