OT stupid thieves

Sadly the apple ranch at the end of our road fell into foreclosure earlier this year and has been empty. At last someone has bought it and they discovered that some delightful people had broken in and stolen all the wiring out out the walls for the copper.
They broke into the fudge kitchen and spent a lot of time and effort taking all the wiring out of the walls in this area too however they left one thing behind.......the 50 lb COPPER kettle they cook the fudge in!!!!!

My Brother had bought a house for a rental. He Closed on it. Then
that night someone broke in and stole all the wiring.

Are the new owners Amish? Maybe somebody wants to help them stay off the grid. Some thieves are not too bright, since they left a copper kettle alone.

Sometimes it seems people go to more effort to steal something than actually doing a job! Just how much money do you think you can get from a roll of electrical wire? Do you then have to strip the coating off?
Years ago my dad caught someone putting fake coins into a cigarette machine in his pub - this guy had spent hours getting the right thickness metal, cutting out the discs, making sure they weighed the right amount all to nick a pack of cigarettes!!

drugs make ignorant people do stupid things, my friend is a deputy and some of his stories make you not want to live on this planet anymore.

Neighbor's kid took some cheap Harbor Freight tools out of the floorboard of my truck. Later he broke into my workshop and passed up on all the tools there. It turned out that he tried to sell the HF tools and found them worthless so later when he broke in he took the R/C truck and left the high priced tools alone. He's back in jail for another stretch and the neighbor moved out...

Good times,

Aaron

Yeh like the two jerks in mass. found dead electicuted steeling copper wire from a high voltage transfer station.

I heard a story on the radio about a guy who was
stealing copper. All they found was the cable
cutters with his arm attached and a pile of ashes!
No need for jail time!

A guy in our area was all set to steal a catalytic converter, the next morning when the shop opened one of the workers saw legs sticking out from under the car, thinking it might be a prank he went over and pulled on them, it was not a prank, the car fell off the jack sometime durning the night and crushed the guy.

Being an Electrician by trade I often get copper scrap off the job a let it pile up for a while then will strip it it pays well for trash you had to take off the job and I dont strip anything under #6 clean copper runs around two bucks a pound and $1.15 for the small stuff.
this year I demoed a section of cable 500 MCM 15KV EPR cable which is next to impossiable to strip the GC on the job claimed it and I let him have it because we were on base and it is agianst the law to remove it from base if it was based owned my guys were hot about it untill the base came looking for it bottom line guy lost his job over less than $2000. dollars of copper
was it worth it?
I did find it humerous when they guy came to me and said his partner the QC guy would not take a cut of the money what should he do?
I told him I wanted nothing to do with it from the get go and still don't.
