Wasp in trailer tongue--tongue is on yard tlr that has open C shaped tongue but can"t see the nest..Out there the other night-they come at my light brushed me but missed..Bug man says nothing available with residual effect.. I see all kinds of traps and such on ebay..wish I knew what to put out there to attract them and what to lace the bait with.....I want to attract them and get them before they get me..These are the orangey/red ones that come after u even though u do not provoke them. I hate em..Suggestions? Thoughts? Thanks

I have had the same problem this year. I used the foaming wasp and hornet spray after dark. Taped off the back side opening then blasted them from the front end. The foam fils the entire tonge so none are left alive.

My Grandfather used to tie a fusee to a long stick, light it after dark and go after them. They'll fly into the flame. I've used the wasp & hornet spray when they nest up in my vehicles and they don't come back for the season. Good luck! joe-

Splash some gasoline or diesel fuel up under the tongue. Get them before they get you.

farm stores sell a permetherin oil emulsion you mix with water and spray.

if used straight.. it's an oil and will persist.. especially under a tounge where weather don't get to.

it's not a fast kill like canned bug spray.. but within a minute of them touching it they will be gonners.

treat it, then it will likely be good for quite a while.. oil doesn't evaporate.. :)

I have used the "foam " that tackhammer suggested, it coats them . However, for a residual around the house, shop and garage I use a product called,"DEMON' buy mine at a swimming pool supply house, but have seen it at TSC. Spray the surfaces about twice a year and don't hardly find wasp nest anymore.

Thanks to all who replied. Going to check with TSC tomorrow..Gotta do something. Right now the trailer is untouchable. It"s low to the ground so once u get down there to try to see the nest you are at their mercy..

You didn't send them up here, did you? Went out yesterday and they had moved into my JD M. Blasted them with the wasp & hornet spray and almost immediate results except for those that were out of the nest. All quiet today. Good luck! joe-

No, wouldn"t do you that way but sure need to give em to someone..Maybe tomorrow can stir them up and swat em down or something...

Knocked the nest out today and there were some stragglers in there that could stumble around but none could fly. Something about the residual in the spray gets them all. It was a pretty good sized nest and there was no activity there the day before. Think I got the wasp spray at the dollar store. Good luck, whatever you do! joe-

Hadn"t messed with them..slipped up kinda close a time or two and hadn"t seen any activity..I also made a funnel type trap with sweetened water in it nad from a distance looks like none in it...Maybe my random spraying the other night got them---Thanks

I have taken to shooting expanding foam into the pipe of the trailer tounge. A poly rope threaded through first helps if you ever need to make a hole later if you need to put wiring in later. The wasps and yellowjackets simply can't get in there to build their nests.

Good idea--this tongue is open on the botom full length-like a C-shannel....makes it tough to deal with..
