OT: What killed a farm?

CHIEFLAND, Fla. -- A man and a woman and dozens of goats, dogs and other animals were found dead on Tuesday at a farm in Levy County.

The farm covers about five acres, Levy County Sheriff's Office Lt. Evan Sullivan said.

Sullivan said it's still not clear what killed them. An autopsy is scheduled for the man and woman on Wednesday morning.


The victims were believed to have been in their 50s, but their identities weren't released.

More than 40 animals were killed, including dozens of goats, seven dogs, a donkey and a miniature horse or pony.

"A stack of goats were found dead in two separate sheds," Sullivan said.

Some animals survived, including several horses, goats and chicken.

Deputies remained at the scene on Wednesday as the investigation continued.

Wow! I sure pray that the find the cause quick. I find it odd if it was a poisening that there would not have been some what of a time period that one of the peoiple noticed something, called the vet, asked a doctor, told a freind, relative. Makes you wonder with all that is happening with stuff made in China, how easy would it be to have tainted water filters made in another country?? I am sure we dont test for stuff like that coming into the country, look how long it takes them to find tainted food. My sympathy to the family.

The news article I just read said they had gunshot wounds.

"Sullivan said the two victims and all of the animals were shot to death, but he said they aren't looking for a suspect in the case."

according to the local news (channel 20--Gainesville, Fl.)at 6:00 p.m. tonight they were in their 70's and they think she shot her husband and then shot herself with a pistol. All animals had been shot.

Yep Lead Poisoning alright. The thing with murder suicide is the killer starts with the wrong person...

Yup, it was lead poisoning alright. The lady shot the animals, hubby, then herself. (hmmmmm.....) Apparently they had a rocky marriage for awhile. I heard the local news also and managed to get a few more details.
