Over Heating & shutting down

Sorry, the over flow stem at the radiator cap, is what I meant. I can see the water moving when looking down the radiator stem to the radiator it self.

So you are referring to the opening at the top of the radiator that the cap goes onto? I am sure that it makes sense to you but no one here knows of the use of the term "stem" for anything there.

The overflow stem that is to the left of the radiator cap hole is were the antifreeze was coming from. I send pic this time. second pic is the stem or tube or pipe that goes from the cap to the main radiator which is about 7-8 inches. Sorry for all the confusion. I will always try to send pics from now on.

Here are the common names, used for the things you are mentioning to avoid confusing us.

''The overflow stem that is to the left of the radiator cap hole is were the antifreeze was coming from'' = overflow tube.

''second pic is the stem or tube or pipe that goes from the cap to the main radiator which is about 7-8 inches'' = Radiator filler neck or just filler neck.

Ok, Thank you very much. Now that the radiator fins are cleaned out. I think its running ok. What is the normal operating temperature suppose to be for my Case 930 CK 6 cylinder? it's running about 180-200, is that normal? Thanks again

Is the coolant pump moving the coolant ?
Odds are the coolant
Pump pulley , alternator pulley and fan belts are worn and slipping . Over tightening the belt to prevent slip will only tear the bearings out of the coolant pump and alternator .
A head gasket leak will fill the coolant system with bubbles and disrupt flow .
ep, look in the radiator to see if coolant is moving....easy peasy

What? One post is about terms of saying things like overflow stem & the other was what were the ratings of the thermostats Which reading now I miss understood. I thought for some reason he was talking about the temperature gauge on the dash, how much does it go up too. My Bad. I need to slow down & read things better, lol. That's why I put looks like 240 is the max. The thermostats are 180 so I guess that would be normal running temperature. Thanks again Ted
