Does Yesterdays tractor sell these...just discovered ny 8N and NAA have dif diameter spline...I think I need a 1" 3/8 female ORC the one on m8n is 1" 1/8 thanks for help

Yes they sell them on this site but you can also get an adapter spline 1 1/8" to 1 3/8" cheaper than a second ORC.
Also you could change out the PTO shaft to 1 3/8" they sell the PTO shaft also.

Tractor supply handles both over running clutchs. one is 1"1/8 - 1" 3/8 the other is 1"3/8 - 1"3/8. They also have sleeve to neck the 1"3/8 down to a 1"1/8.

Be careful following this course. My PTO had a conversion shaft going from the 1 1/8" to 1 3/8" to fit my brush hog shaft.

When I ordered my ORC I ordered the correct one that fit the 1 1/8" on the tractor and the 1 3/8" on the brush hog.

What I'm getting at here is that if I left the adapter on the PTO shaft and tried to put an ORC on it, my brush hog drive shaft would have been to long to get on. Personally I just don't think it would be a good idea to run an adapter and an ORC on the PTO anyway. Just too much jiggling around there.

You are getting two different items confused. The adapter does extend the shaft but the sleeve does not, it is just what the name implies a sleeve that fits in the gap between the 1 1/8" and the 1 3/8" and does not change length at all. For that sleeve you have to use the pin hole tho as they will not work with a quick coupler, the adapter you pin to tractor shaft but then the quick coupler will hook to that adapter. And yes they adapter does change the lenght shaft needed and may not allow the yokes to lign up or may cause it to pull apart but the sleeve will not do that.

Good to know. I didn't know about the sleeve type adapter. I was just going by what was on my tractor when I purchased it.

I just pulled that adapter / extender off when I ordered the ORC because I figured mounting it right on the PTO with less parts involved was the way to go.

take a good look at your 1 1/8 splines, 9 times out of 10 they are wore and you're better off buying a conversion shaft for your tractor, and the larger ORC. or change over your other from the NAA.

Regarding the ORC sdding too much length to attach a brushhog drive shaft. That almost happens with my 2N when trying to connect my Wood M5...but if I lower the front end of the mower *all the way to the ground*, I have just enough clearance to connect them. When I raise the Woods to operating level the shaft is telescoped out a few inches from its shortest length. so everything works just fine.
