can a person bore out a 226 allis engine?i mean,instead of spending more money on sleeves,can they just be bored out .125.i already have a set of wd .125 over pistons on hand. this is all new to me.thank-u.-mike

if they are the old factory sleeves and ot some over seas rebuild stuff i would think they would be thick enough.

thanks mitch,the machine shop said this is possible.i still have to get 2 pistons removed from my rusty cylinders.one sleeve started to come out on me.the good news is that my crankshaft looked really good-standard bearings!

speaking of crankshafts, who could stroke a 226 crank for me in the Indiana-Ohio- Kentucky area.? Looking for 1.75 rod journal size. Who is a good machine shop?

We can but were in tn are you wanting more than 5.125 stroke . i have a six inch available setting in the garage it had some rod journal scouring but it had a bigger journal so turning it to 1.750 would make it standard again.

M&W went to 4 1/8 in a d17 which made it 240ci.

It can be done, I took a set of stock WD sleeves and got 4.250 they are thin but hold up to what I throw at them.

I was asking 2500 for the crank ,rods ,pistons and cam shaft but I havent had any takers .might if talked to real sweet throw in a 3 inch that i have nearly 800 dollars worth of parts in.
