paint color

Some people like the blue better so they painted them blue and some dealer painted them blue to make them seem newer than they were

One of the guys here - awhtx - has an ad put out by Ford Motor Co from the mid 1960s that suggests you bring your old red belly in for a steam clean and repaint. They are pushing Blue to give it that "Modern" look. A lot of them got repainted that way and also dealers would repaint them when they took them in on trade to make them appear newer.
Of course some guys think that Blue tractors run better. But that hasn't been proven.

Jerry,
Since you put my reputation on the line I'll post it again. I don't do this for everybody but since you're one of the "good ol' boys" here it is. (The last time I posted this someone said "hey that's BHO in the seat. I won't touch that with a 10' pole.)

Paint Em Blue

Cool advertisement, but to me,..a pre-blue Ford tractor should always be in the color it was assembled with.

...that is unless one can prove that they took advantage of this offer.

Thanks for sharing the article AWHTX!

That is a great ad Allan. Thanks for posting it again. I see where it says "offer expires...
But can't make out what it says after that.
What does it say there?

"Offer expires in 60 days"
As fast as prices are going up nowadays it would say "Offer expires in 60 minutes" if it were currently effective.
