Paint scheme for model 100 manure spreader

Just purchased a model 100 manure spreader and was wondering what colors it should be painted.
I have seen pictures of it completely farmall red, red with blue shields, red with white rims. If any of you know what is considered original I would appreciate any help. Also, where can I get decals for it? Thank you

Can't tell ya anything definitive, but I'd question the blue shields. Most discussions I've seen of this suggest that any metal was red, except that there was a point where they started painting the wheels white.

There may be others that have them, but I got the decals for mine from Maple-Hunter.

According to the IH paint committed decision dated Nov. 3, 1954 found at www.wisconsinhistory.org it shows the following for a 100-H and a 100-T manure spreader: Body & Frame=Red, Apron=Blue, Wheels=Cream, and Hubs=Blue.

I restored a model 100 a couple years back. It was the one my dad bought new. Very rusty, but as best I could tell from original paint, everything was red except for the wheels which were IH white. That is how I painted it. I have seen photos of some that had blue wheels and/or blue hubs. It looks correct to me though with the white wheels. The floor is wood, and I replaced the rotted out floor in mine with oak. I believe the floor was originally not painted. Don't know what kind of wood was in there originally. One thing to keep in mind if you replace the floor is that the spreader is about an inch wider at the rear than the front to facilitate the manure moving back. I did not realize this until after I had cut the boards and was installing them so I had to do some rework.

We are in the process of repainting what we think is a 100. A wood body, not rotted in good shape, it looks like most of the machine is red, except the beaters, auger, apron and hubs are blue. The wheels are of the 40's yellow color. Could someone tell me if this is in fact a 100. thanks...Darald
