I finished painting last night. I used a quart and a half of Ford gray and the appropriate thinners and hardeners. If I had to do it again I would sand blast the entire tractor as a whole or in pieces. The rough surface is magnified by the new paint. This will work for me. It’s a work tractor and now it's all one color.

I painted the fenders, dog legs and light buckets with rattle can primer and enamel.
This is the first thing I have painted using a spray gun and all the thinners and hardners. I did use the Valspar implement paint. I know it does not get good reviews on this site, but again "Budget" and its a work tractor. I am going to let it set until Wednesday then I will start the assembly process. I will post pictures when its back together.

Looks real good I used a length of 8" roof flashing roled it to the diameter of the rim and taped the end. set in place over the rim and shoot, no paint on tire. works on front and rear.

That looks like a major improvement over the previous coat of paint :-)

PS: You might want to consider putting a jack stand under the oil pan. That front end looks dangerously unstable.
