There is a part that i don't understand.it is approximately 2 inches square,mounted under the dashboard so to speak.I've looked at my manual and it looks like a resistor of some kind.could some one please explain what exactly a resistor does? anyway,the part I'm looking at is under the dash has one connection on top and two below forming what looks like an eqilateral triangle.The two bottom connections have nothing attatched to them.The top connection however has one lead going to the ignition switch,the other lead goes to an ampmeter,which goes to the battery plus +side of the solenoid.my question is this.Could that resistor of somekind go bad.Can the ignition switch be bad if the solenoid keeps clicking? I don't think so.See what I know. Can you install a starter incorrectly?It is a 1949 8n with front mounted distributor and a warm steering wheel thanks to me old lady.
