I ran across this little 8n a couple of days ago and am not
going to pursue it as I am still working on a different tractor.
It is located near Council Bluffs Ia. Here is what I know about
it.
Serial number is 277693 which puts it 1950.
Fenders are really nice.
Floorboards look really good.
Pedals show no to little wear. Tight.
Tach and side distributor. Tach says 6500. No idea.
tie rod ends, all steering extremely tight. really nice
Hood is really nice, with a small spot of rust through on lower
left dogleg.
original bumper grill really nice No headlights, nor does it
look like there ever were.
Couple of extra holes in hood on right side.
cyclone precleaner with unoriginal jar.
Engine is not locked even though it says stuck on the hood? I
turned it with the fan and crank moved. Did not do anything
else.
Cap on pto.
drawbar of some kind, arms in good shape and no lift arm
play.
No visible cracks in block.
One good hat rim (no rust around stem, but ?
Tires are spread to farthest point.
Left rim totally shot.
Tires were matched and in nice shape but have cracks from
sitting. perhaps savable.
Front tires are 15 inch implement. Hold air.
Radiator looks good.
Battery tray nice.
Original 6 volt and gen looks nice.
Tank smells like bad varnish and has rust, but not through.
Tool box present and in great shape under hood.
Spark plugs are in and tight. (no one messed with)
Exhaust is bad. Looks like extra clamp in tool box.
Again, it is not mine and I am not making anything on it. He is
asking for 700 for it and offers another 6 loop rim for 40
more. If you are very interested in it and are not going to part
it out, send me an email. I think it is a great old original little
8n that should probably be saved. It is a great start.
Thanks.
