Pat's easy change system

Anyone have any experience with the Pat's easy change system? It is sold by Agri-Supply. It changes the lift arms to a hook system and supposedly makes hook-ups easier. I mostly use a bush hog, a set of discs (16 blades), and a broadcast seed/fertilizer spreader. I am frequently on unlevel ground and working alone. Thanks for any input.

You would be better off, dropping the equipment on level ground, here's why: Pat's and other quick connect systems shift the implement 4-6" backwards from the standard position. This changes drive line geometry (minor problem) and weight distribution (could be a major problem). The safest contraption/aid in hooking up the 3 point equipment, is a piece of pipe, about 4 feet long, big enough to fit over the lower pins, to help pry the implement forward or back, once you get one of the lower pins connected up.

I have Pat's on my Case 885, but primarily BECAUSE it extends the lower link attaching point. Now my PTO shafts are the correct length for both the Case and my Ford 4000. Strictly from the standpoint of being an aid in hooking & unhooking implements, Pat's is mediocre at best. A more traditional 3PT quick hitch device paired with a hydraulic toplink would be about the best help you could buy, I'd say.

If you buy Pats from the manufacturer, and you currently have extendable lower links, they make versions that replace the extendable part so the overall length doesn't change.
