perkins deseil won't run

I have a Massey MF 20 industrial backhoe with a 3 cyl perkins desiel in it
The other day i was running it for about 10 min and it was working just fine and then it started to stumble as though it was out of fuel
I shut it down and checked the fuel level and it was fine, anti freeze and oil are both full
Checked the filter bowl to be sure it was full
Bleed the filter as well and there was no water in it
Filled the tank with fresh fuel anyway just in case
The primary fuel pump is pumping fuel as when you open the filter drain and crank it over it pulses as well as i loosened off the feed line from the filter to the injector pump at the injector pump and it also pulses out there while turning it over
Opened the bottom bleeder on the injector pump as well as the top one to be sure there was no air in it and both showed fuel present and under presurre as soon as i crack them open
The engine sounds as if its trying to start and seems to be running at a very low RPM. There is smoke coming out of the tail pipe but it just won"t start and keep running or rev up working RPM
What am i missing
Does anyone have any sugestions
I"m new to deseil moters and this is my first one
Any help will be muchly apperciated

Check your air filter it maybe stopped up. Good luck.

checked air filter
its new and get same results wether its in place or removed

Hi,
Check also the air filter pipe between the filter body and the engine inlet manifold. It may have collapsed.

Check the fuel shut-off linkage at the pump. It might of came loose and is half way shutting the fuel off.Good luck and let us know what you find out.

found the problem
it was the hydrulic hoses
i had not reconnected them together and the build up of presurre in the pump was stalling the motor
goes to show you that the simple things can be a real problem if you don't take all the steps to doing things
