Photo ads inquiries.

Well today does it for me! I will submit one photo with the ad. If someone is interested they can come see it. All of these people who email want a photo album and after they waste your time taking more photos, you never hear from them again. I am not a photographer and if I am going to take multiple pictures, it will be for myself and it won't be a tractor. I can think of prettier things than that to take a lot of pictures of.

Say,could you post the pic here, that way I dont have go through all that bother looking through the photo ads to find it. Just kidding being a smart alek. I know what you mean, but I myself do ask for additional photo's, be it cows, tractors , or land. With gas as high as it is, it helps to make the descision if it is a long distance away, but I totally understand your frustration.

You could always put multiple pictures in the tractor or implement photo section,that would be easy reference. Then when someone inquires send them there for many pictures to look at. When you post your ad just state in the ad more pictures in the tractor photos etc. etc. Get the picture.

Take 4 pictures one from each side if they want more then like you said they can come by and get them for themselves.
Why not put it on E-Bay you can put up as many pics as you want on the same add.

One time when I was selling an Oliver 1955 on here I got a call from an old farmer from North Dakota (I am in Missouri). He wanted to know all kinds of stuff about and then asked if I could take some pictures of it with a regular camera, have them developed, mail them to him and then he'd get back to me. I told him I'd e-mail him some but he said he wanted regular pictures, didn't know anything about the computer(don't know how he found it for sale anyhow). This was during the winter and during the week and I told him it was dark out when I got home from work so when the weekend came around I'd try to get some pictures for him and mail them if I had time. Long story short, guy from New York called me the next day and bought the tractor sight unseen over the phone and offered to send certified funds next day as a deposit, needless to say I sold it to him. The next week the guy from ND called back and I told him I sold the tractor and I thought he was personally gonna drive down to Missouri and whip my A$$. I guess I am just hard to deal with???

Think of all the time you save by not having to entertain these people at your home looking at the tractor. The photos you provide give potential buyers a good idea if it's worth their pursuit or not. Seems to me this is a lot simpler than wasting their time (and gas) as well as yours to look at an item in person just to discover that it's not what they're looking for because of a poor verbal description. From personal experience I can tell you that a good picture is worth a thousand words. So many times I've been told someone has a "like new", "low hours" tractor for sale or one "totally restored" or "mint" (now there's an abused word) that I later come to find was painted with a rattle can and has 4 different size tires on it. A seller can describe a tractor to a buyer all day long but until you see pictures, it's really meaningless. One man's "mint" is another man's "junk". Besides, once you take the digital photos (which should only put you out a few minutes), how hard is it to send them out to anyone interested? So you have to type their address in and press "send"... what's the big hassle? You can use them over and over again and they're free. Sure, some people might just like to look, but most serious buyers these days want to see pictures before they'll waste their time looking at something in person. I know I do.

When I have sold tractors on the photo ad section I take some pictures from each side and have them all ready to send to anyone who asks. Figure someone is at least want to see the tractor from each side and possibly a close up of anything unique about the tractor. If you have the pictures ready it is easy and quick to send.

Anything I have looked at on the photo ad section I have asked for a good quality photo from each side. I'm not asking for the heck of it, if I want to look at a tractor I can go see mine. But before I spend time and money driving hundreds of miles I want a pretty good idea of what I am going to get.

I wouldn't waste my time driving to look at a tractor in person if I hadn`t seen good pictures of it first and knew that it was in a condition I would consider buying. So you won`t be wasting my time by not providing pictures I can assure you. I also make it a regular practice not to buy from people who don`t want to sell. All that works together to keep my BP at a normal level. Those that get all worked up about stuff... well I just wait for their estate auction to come along.

Boy the two tractors I bought, I'd had a fit if I didn't get my pictures of the walk around look before I drove 2000 miles to buy them. I feel that if I'm going to buy sight unseen on some one's word a few pictures is a small inconvience for the owner.

I did run into someone trying to hide a major defect on one of the tractors I was interested in. I asked for more pictures and caught the problem even tho his pictures were terrible ( out of focus and too far away). He refused to retake better pics.

The one tractor I bought, the Dad didn't know how to take a decent picture and the son couldn't understand that I wanted pictures as if I was standing there in person looking at the tractor for sale in a 360º viewing. Dad could understand that and told the kid which pictures I wanted and the son shipped me the pics. Just what I wanted and we had a sale.

The other tractor, the gent was a experienced salesmen that took the correct pictures and it was very easy for me to say sold. Couple that with His honesty and very accurate discription and reputation for such.

I did run into a couple tractors just before I bought these two where the people refused to take more pictures. I just said thank you and kept looking.

when i bought my cockshutt 50 it came from west central iowa. the seller meant a friend and i in waterloo ia. i still have the pictures of the 50.
