PHOTO - bought a new trailer

Having spent 26 years on the road dragging a trailer behind (with implement for demonstration) I was glad to leave all that behind when I retired.
But now living down in Wales I needed a trailer. After looking at some real junk ones, dragged some money from under the mattress and bought this new one.
6 foot 6 inches long, 4 feet wide & 20 inches deep, 3/4 ton capacity. Its galvanised with composite floor. Cost just over $900 - what do you think of it?

That looks like a great and inexpensive utility trailer. Looks to be electroplate galvanized, ought to stand up to the salt air, and I like the holder for the pigtail plug for the lights, it's the small things that count, were there any options for a drink cup holder ? :)

One like that would sell around here, very handy item to have use of.

This is my 2005 Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin. 2 litre gas 4 cyl gasoline engine. Rear wheel drive with shiftable 4wd hi & 4wd lo + diff lock (mechanical 4wd not hydraulic activated).
They didnt make a diesel engine version of these vehicles so it lacks torque when towing, but has very good turning circle and is easy to drive and park.

Chassis looks very similar to a french rapido camper trailer I have. It has a plug holder too.

Also has interesting mechanical surge brakes with a parking brake lever.

Nice little vehicle. I wish you could get a small diesel vehicle along those lines here in the states. A little Ford Ranger with a matching diesel would be great.

You are in luck.Volkswagen is going to reintroduce a diesel in a Passenger car . In the '09 Season look for one on a Golf or Jetta. Son has a '04 Golf ,Stick w/Diesel in Colo. Regularly gets 50+ MPG.
