PHOTO - Chinese tractor

Hi Gang;
Over the past couple of years several makes of low HP Chinese tractors have appeared over here.
The are cheap to buy and very low quality compared to western makes.
Several dealers have them in their yards for sale, not sure how many are at work in the fields though. Price may attract small holders, good lifers and horse owners.
Cheers David

Yeah, notice along the side of the hood? The Chinese are too dammed embarrassed to put their name along the side of it.

Thanks for your neat pics i enjoy them very much. Those CHINESE tractors are everywhere with different paint and names but are cheaply built and parts are something else. Their castings are weak how would you everget service.South KOREA stuff is O.K. but stay away from the CHINESE ones.

I wonder what kind of real tractors Chinese farmers use? To feed all of them...they have to produce lots of crops. I assume the big farms would be large government ran co-op's and they wouldn't use that little junk. I am sure the small farmers still use those 2 wheel tractors that look like overgrown Graveleys. I bet they're tough as nails.

"Which would you rather have a Chinese tractor or Chinese toothpaste? "

I huess it would be a toss-up... Both are full on Ethylene Glycol..

Mark, when I was in China about 10 yrs ago the 2 wheelers were the main haulers in the rural areas. tough I guess but the all smoked like a freight trains and were usually pulling several pickup loads of stuff on a trailer.

Vern,

The Chinks have been making the tail sections and wings for the Boeing 747 for years.....no kidding. They are now making fuselage parts for the 757 and 767's. This stuff is then flown to Boeing's plant in Washington and married to the rest of the airplane. Part of this deal is why the Chinese air industry mainly operates Boeing aircraft instead of Tupolevs.

About 10-15 years ago when the Iron Curtain really began to fall down and tons of Commie surplus became available....the Chinese MiGs were reputed to exhibit the very best of workmanship...better than any of the Russian or eastern bloc stuff. I recall reading that the first load of Chinese MiG 15's arrived in San Francisco....fully armed. They had never removed the cannon or missile control systems. When the Chinese offer a fighter for sale...that's what you get....ready to go:)! Point is.....the Chinese are very capable of making the finest to be had and in some instances, they have been making high quality for many years. The military had access to the best of the best and the private sector lagged behind. Now that the Maoist's have passed into oblivion, the money is being invested in the private sector......civilian industry...and you will see things get better.

Yep on both.
On a road job outside of Bejong they and one dozer and about 200 people using shovels.

Looks like a knock off of the Yugo car without finders?
The top FDA man in China was given the short end of a rope or a AK 47.
News today said 74% of American don't trust China food products. Wonder if the dogs voted? Used Plastics to up the protien value in dog and live stock foods.

I talked face to face with high ranking China officials on regulatory issues and they would dinie , denie ,denie all infestion introductions into USA as not their bug. You can not prove it. We could with out a question. It only took 75 miilion of your tax payers money to remove the problem from one location. A couple of other sites are still working and spend triple that and not able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Soap box is now stored till next time.

By golly I think your right about the brittle, and how bout the "high grade" pot metal, soft as lead. I know this, I will never ever work on one of those junk chinese 4 wheelers ever again. Did I say never ever! ok I did, didn't want to leave out the never ever part out! The scrap yards are going to be full of one year old tractors and 4 wheelers soon.

Did anybody notice the block of lumber to hold the tractor in place? Could it be the parking brake is already worn out...or could it be that on this cheap stuff a parking brake is actually option equipment?!
Usually the old saying holds true that you get what you pay for.
