PHOTO - mowing before the storm

Hi Gang;
After the wettest June on record, fine weather predicted until Sunday. So this guy is mowing with Valmet (now called Valtra) and mower-conditioner.

so thats where all our rain is. we had one of the driest junes on record, still in severe drought here in the mojave desert...err, i mean the southeast.

Yup, I agree, where is all the rain. Rain has been real spotty in the upper midwest, some places got nice rains but where I am........nothing, just some damaging hail on June 20th and an inch of rain, but now very dry again.

Well, we got about 2 1/2" on our farm in the early part of the week, I think it was monday & tuesday. Nobody else around us even got that much. But, we needed it badly.

I did cut a swamp on either sat. or sun. so that's why we got rain. Rains every time i cut that swamp for bedding, stayed dry maybe once in the last 10 years. Just glad I didn't cut our 2nd yet as I was planning to do....

In south west MO my problem is trying to decide wether to cut due to shower chances. Have a bottom field of millet I'm waiting to cut. Rained Tue. night, 9/10th after almost 2 1/4" on Sat. and Sun. Possibly showers again mid week.

Sounds like us last year, May and June '06, I was beginning to think we were stuck in the rinse cycle ! In contrast to this year, like night and day, I cannot recall the last time we have experienced periods of sunny and dry weather, with rain averaging about once a week. There is probably some real nice hay put up this year in the area.
