Fits good. Im hauling a 41 ford Sir LOL First time I have had this one on a trailer in a year and a half...Both wheels dont point straight ahead. One is toed out!!! Your right side in this pic. Never noticed it till I tried loading it on a trailer. Ill have too look at that later. I am heading out at O dark thirty to pick up the 46 2n...

Should call it Rust Bucket LOL....I think that one is taken...

I'm not trying or wanting, to start a war here, this is my personal OPINION based on my PERSONAL experience!!!.... I will take my '47 2n over a 8n any day of the week hands down. Forget the 4 speed tranny. I'm talking day to day work, especially plowing. My 2n WILL out plow my dads 8n any time, any where. We have proven it year after year. Both tractors have loaded tires pulling the same model 2x14 plow. We have switched plows and even traded tractors. The 2n will catch and pass the 8n every time. Sorry about the long response. BTW Sean, very nice 9n. Once I sell my 861, I'm going to install the ZANE thang on my 2n.

What gear does he use in the 8N? What gear do you use in the 2N? Never plowed to much rock here!! Im guessing 1st gear in the 2N?

Plowing is one of the things that I use my 8N for, and when I do I use an all purpose plow, and I use position control, to control the depth that I want it at.

I use my 8N for grading, and bush hogging too.

I wouldn't even consider having a tractor with a lift, without position control.

JMO, and just to counter your strict position.

Sean, what do you tell U Haul you"re hauling when you rent the trailer? I know if you even whisper a tractor they won"t rent to you.

Just curios because the trailer I have to rent is a hundred bucks a day and I believe the U Haul is much cheaper.

Uhaul was 50 bucks. Just tell them it is a 41 ford coupe...This guy was just going by the book. They do it online just like if you were looking at the uhaul website. Tow rig plus what you are towing and it has to come up as a approved application. Im using my 05 F-150 and a class 3 hitch.

Well that's interesting, I have used my 8N for plowing my field, virgin land,rocks stumps, you name it, it pulls through everything. 2nd gear 1/2 throttle , 2 14 plow, loaded tires, just keeps pulling unless buried stump stops me," ouch" hurts my knee.
What do you think the differnce is? Why is the 2 N better?

Both tractors running 2nd gear at about 3/4-full throttle. 11.2x28's on the rear. Both with healthy engines. So I'm guessing the clue lies in the gear ratio difference in the trans... although I have not checked the details on that. Draft control is not an issue because the fields we plow are really flat.

YES, U-Haul WILL rent to me when I tell them that I am indeed hauling a tractor. Depends on which U-Haul you are going to. Mine, in Coralville, Iowa, adjacent to Iowa City, simply puts down some sort of car on the form. No problem. Tom

My local Uhaul wanted a plate number of the vehicle I would be hauling. I gave them the plate from a small pickup I owned at the time. I was actually picking up a 1921 Model T Ford, and they didn't want to hear hauling of antiques. The guy had no problem entering my newer regular driven vehicle. Second time was for my tractor. Both times cost me 50 bucks for a day. Just have a plate number and make of a vehicle that is owned by a relative, neighbor or friend handy. It's an insurance thing since their carrier will not cover antiques.

Didnt need a come-along. Had one thou. He had a big 4 wheeled ATV with a winch. Hauled it right up on the trailer..
