On Friday I attended a consignment sale near Ft Scott,Kansas..This sale was to be held in March but was postponed..

We are finally starting to see a few sales in our area....It was a nice day and there was a large crowd..Our area is a
muddy mess so no one was replanting corn, planting beans, or baling hay...The guy that rents my farm has 900 acres
of corn to replant.

You live down south of Joplin don't you?? I talked to a guy that lives down in Neohso SP MO. yesterday he was having 8N tractor problems

Ya I would have POD dozer at that price if was mine. Its a muddy mess at Roscoe I hear. It was just getting dried out week after Easter when I was there. Then looks like rained about every day since like did last year.

Holy cow $18,000 for the 2004 Chevy 2500. I have a Chevy 2006 2500 standard cab, 8' bed, 4X4 absolutely no rust or damage with 57,000 miles on it. No way would I ever expect to get $18,000 out of it! I got it with only 13,700 miles on it and paid far less than $18,000 then!!!

ya, 18,000 is not right. or the guy buying it not right. about a 5k unit. maybe it was 1800.00?

Well folks in Missouri should
shop up here for a truck
then!!! With the days of
internet not to hard to shop
for vehicles anywhere in the
USA! Why would folks in
Missouri pay way over book
value? And I think book value
is high!

I was just at a dealership a couple weeks
ago. The prices of all used and new
vehicles have increased anywhere from 3-5
thousand in the past couple months. Here
in Kansas we have to go to Missouri to get
a better deal on anything.

You're overlooking one important thing: the hay bed. As 1206 said, a new Cannonball hay bed goes for north of 10K depending on size and options. Some are as high as 15K, and that's before putting them on the truck! Only reason I know this is dad was pricing them last fall. Basically, the buyer bought the bed and got a truck for next to nothing. Not my idea of a bargain, but I think that outfit would bring a similar price here in cattle country.

No,it was 18K..Two guys went after it 1K at a time like there was no tomorrow..It was clean and cared for...As I mentioned a new Cannonball bale bed it $10,000...We all thought it was very high but you should see what clean low mile used trucks bring in this area....

I never bid as there was nothing that I as a retired farmer needed..I just enjoy attending auctions.

Nice report, prices seemed high to me for the most part.

Was the Freighliner rough? Day cab or sleeper? Looks like a good deal for the buyer but maybe it was a wreck.
