Picture problems.

I’m curious as to why when I post pictures you have to open them to se them when others that post pictures they are visible when you first open the posts. Thank you for your help.

After you upload the picture while writing the post click on the picture. A small window will open that will let you choose thumbnail or full size. If you click on full size the picture will be full size in the post. If you choose thumbnail the picture will be the click on thumbnail you have to open to see in the post.
The default if you do nothing is set to be a thumbnail.

He is uploading a picture file but it ends up looking like the below screenshot.

The pictures in the above post came in at over 5mb's
The pictures below came in at only about 900kb's (much less)

What device are you taking the picture with and uploading to YT with?

They appear to be cellphone pics.

Try going into you camera settings on your phone.

You should be able to find where you can change the resolution from Full to medium.

Try that and post a picture. If not, you can change back to whatever the resolution was.

Sorry I should have added that is after selecting "Attach files" at the bottom left of the txt box.

Only only use my phone, it my only computer.

When you select "Attach Files" it should automatically bring up your files and pics on your phone.

Hi john in la. I select the pictures from my photo album after I write the post. Maybe that is a problem. I have to tell you as well I’m not very tech savvy. Thanks.

I would like my pictures to be there and not have to click on them. The northern lights pictures where taken at night and the others where in my shop where it’s bright. Thanks. Just took this picture this morning off of the deck. It worked correctly looks like after I changed from 24 to 12 on my phone settings.

When I select attach files it then goes to a screen that asks me files, photo albums and something else. I then select the pictures from my albums and add them. Looks like the picture I just took is blurry. I’ll try one when I go out to the shop. Thanks.

Once you attach the file to your post if you look in the upper left hand corner of the file you'll see it says insert, that is where you can select full size or thumbnail and will not show up and attachment like this one did, it will just be in the post.

Your picture below is only 2.7Mb and comes thru pretty clear to me.

The second pic inside your shop is only 2Mb and is just as clear.

Seems as if you have gotten it! All the thumbnails appear in the posts I see on my computer, and I can click on them to get them full size.

Posting thumbnails allows those with low internet speed or data/speed caps to download and enlarge those they want without impacting their IPS restrictions much. I used to be in that camp, and full-sized images took forever to load and put a serious hit on my data allotment. Those that posted thumbnails allowed me to pick which ones I wanted to see in greater detail.

Starlink eliminated those requirements, but thumbnails are still appreciated in posts.

I like the garage shot, but it is too clean and roomy. How did it get like that? I can't keep mine uncluttered. zuhnc

Click on attach file and select picture
Once uploaded click on insert in the picture window
Now click on Full image
When you do this the picture will show as the full image in your post
Now click on post reply at the bottom and the post will upload to this site.

Rather than insert full images, have mercy on those with limited ISP bandwidth and upload thumbnails. That way anyone that wants to see the full image can click on it and have their full image. And, the other individuals will not have to contend with data and speed caps prematurely. I have been in that boat, and it is really frustrating to have to endure the excessive amount of time a full size images to download.

Well darn. After figuring out how to do it the way I thought would be better now I’m not sure which way would be best. I don’t like having to click on each picture to see them that’s why I wanted to do it the other way. Thanks for your input zuhnc.
