I just started pulling this year with a 1066 in the farm stock class. We have been slowly adding more and more pieces to improve performance because of my limited college student budget. The farm stock class allows 2750 RPMs, a 3LM 466 turbo charger, and a rotary pump with a 13 or 14mm head??
We started with the original 1066 100 series American bosch pump. We tuned the RPMs to 2750, removed the droop screw, and turned the fuel screw all the way out. Recently we added a 3LM 466 turbo and an American bosch pump from a 1640 dt466 engine. The dt466 was naturally aspirated but the pump has a bigger head, lines and injectors than my stock 1066 I believe. This new pump doesn’t give us the RPMs or fuel that we need. Is there something different between the two?
Most importantly we are getting plenty of air but we need more fuel. Hopefully someone with more experience can help me. We were wondering about putting the bigger head and rotor back in our old pump (and keeping the big lines and injectors), or getting an electronic pump at the tank to push more into the American bosch??? If anyone has any tricks on getting more fuel within the rules of this class I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
