please help me identify this Ford

I had a KD forklift brought to me to do an engine overhaul. I have determined the engine is a 172 diesel. but I can't find any model number tags on the forklift.
do any of you know anything about these forklifts or any other way to determine what tractor is in this frame ?

On the linked Tractordata page scroll down towards the bottom. It shows you where the serial number would be stamped on normal tractor. Post back with what you find there, others will be able to help you breakdown what it is by that.

It appears to be an 801 series tractor 1960 or later. The serial number will tell for sure

here is what I found. not 100% sure which is the serial number and the 405 baffles me a little.

The numbers are hard to read in that picture, but I definitely see the first 4 digits of the model number 4130, which is a 4000 series light industrial model made from 1963-1964. I can't make out the last digit, but that would only tell us which transmission and PTO options it came with. The serial number looks like 571655, which would make it a 1964 model year, but it may have been built even later, in 1965, as they did make some in that year, but they were still officially 1964 model year tractors, as the 1965 model year 4000 series were completely different and had 3 cylinder engines. SO it is a 1964 4000 series light industrial model. The main difference between the ag chassis model and the light industrial was the front axle on the light industrial was a single piece and was non-adjustable. The ag chassis front axle was three pieces that could be bolted together in different configurations to give you variable widths.

I see 881 ( Model Number) and the serial number is 73852 which makes it a 1959 model year. Will have the S-O-S and power steering. may be on cusp of a Gold Demonstrator model. Check the list.

Those numbers are from a picture that Kirk-NJ posted to show JDMAN60 where to look for his numbers. Look at the picture that JDMAN60 posted to see the numbers from the tractor that he is asking about.
