We always pulled 2/14's with our '42 B and believe it or not, in about three rounds would lap our '40 A with 2/16's. Always liked that plowing, the fresh turned earth, and working the tractor to the max.

It depends a lot on how deep you plow, and what kind of dirt you have. We pulled a 2-14 Oliver radex plow, which was noted for being easy to pull, behind a 39 B, and many times I had to shift to low gear, or crank it out of the ground some to get through that old black
gumbo dirt.
