Is this an IH plow? It was painted 20 years ago but has not been used. It was pulled by MF tractor on my cousin's farm.
series or number or name? Number on back of moldboard was all I could find. Thanks!

But that's not a IH part number, looking for some thing with a R-91, and the IH, would be in the middle of a circle!!

Hi Crookedwrench

5223822 is the part number for a IHC Super Chief 14 inch moldboard assembly. If you look closely you will notice the CRESENT FORGE emblem stamp behind the part number. That was Crescent Forge's part number for this style moldboard per their catalog. Sadly, they are no longer in business.

No sure about the IHC plow model number , but I am sure some here can identify the plow's IHC model number.
But, for the moldboard bottoms you posted a photo of the part number is for a IHC Super Chief moldboard bottom from Crescent Forge.

FYI.good news.... IHC's Super Chief wear parts are still readily available from most tillage suppliers.

hope this helps

It is either a Model 309 which was later changed to model 309A with some modifications to be compatible with the newly introduced model 404 and 504 tractors as documented by the Product Identification Committee Decision No. 619 on April 16, 1962.
As far as the moldboards go and as noted earlier by FastFarmall - I am restoring a No. 209 plow and am changing the bottoms from Plow Chief to Super Chiefs. I have some IH NOS moldboards for my conversion part no. 522328R1 with the part no. being preceded with the IH logo on my Super Chief moldboards. Above the part no. and logo are the letters SC (I believe that stands for Super Chief) in larger letters. So it appears as noted by Plowman it is either the 309 or later 309A with Super Chief bottoms. If you have three bolt shares you have the 3/8" light series shares and if you have four bolt shares you have the 3/8" heavy series shares as it could be either with the 522328 moldboard. I have information on the shares originally intended for your plow by part no. depending on if they are three or four bolts and would be willing to provide additional information as my email is open if you need that information. HTH, Hal.

Thanks to everyone for the INFO on the plow. I am undecided as to what to do with it. I moved some stuff and placed it in the very back of my shed with the points on a long hard rubber mat. It does need a new bearing in the tailwheel and obviously new points, but I have little need to break ground at this time. My trusty MF 165D thinks that all she would want anyway!
