Thank you guys.Gerald, the left hand share(and much less worn) says:COCKSHUTT
P3742B
SOLID STEEL
And going in a circle the words
"Made in Canada"

The right hand worn share says:
14A?A0101 and in a square the initials HF(Harry Fergeson?)

I found those #s with a wire wheel,I could find no others.

Thanks again
Doug

Shares look in good condition, sure you need new? Anyway, I'd suggest taking them to a TSC, and comparing with their several generic on the shelf - they no longer stoc ones for my MF with 16" shares, but will order (Plan on a long wait!)

PS looks like a dandy plow for your tractor.

Thanks Ray,

The share on the back side in the photo has about 3/4 inch missing along the bottom.

Here's the problem:
I have about a million hours draggin' logs around in the mountains, and about 2 hours experience pulling a plow.So I am happy if the dirt looks a little more churned up than your average skid trail.

I just know if I get my machine right,It will be left up to me to improve my adjusting and pulling skills.

The plow, without any doubt is a Ferguson-Sherman. The joke is on the previous owner too. Those are the plows that were sold around here with the 9N and probably the 2N and 8N as well. My grandfather bought one new in 1941...

What shares are on the plow is the real question... It looks to have had a shotgun marriage of some kind between that share and a torch. Probably because somebody couldn't buy the correct share anymore.
The one we have has the cast iron points and sod bottoms. This one appears to have stubble bottoms, hence that style share.

Just hitch it up, get it centered behind the tractor and level it fore and aft as well as side to side when the tractor wheel is in the dead furrow and see how it does. It should work. The one we have is a nice little plow and does very nice work.

Ford, Ferguson and Dearborn made nearly identical plows. I have a Dearborn 2-14" with a blue Ford tailwheel. When I was a kid we had a 2-14" Ferguson plow. Other than the color it is hard to tell them apart.
