When I pull the throttle back to get more power it seems like its getting too much gas and looses power a little. Im sure this is a carb adjustment thing but I have the idle set good and I turned the air fuel mixture screw on the body of the carb and it doesn't seam to do anything..

You have 2 adjustment screw on most carbs. The highest one is the idle screw and it works back wards as in in to make it richer and out to lean it out. Then you have the main jet which on most carbs for the N series is at a 45 degree angle. You screw that in all the way then back out 2 full turns and then go from there for the most power with out black smoke. Also when was the last time you checked your air filter and cleaned it and put new oil in?? You would not believe how bad off some of them are that I have opened up.

Check your oil level in the air filter too. If it is too high, at full throttle you will suck in oil and it will run like manure, and maybe foul plugs too.

I got my N CHEAP because of this; prior owner thought rings/valves were shot as the plugs would foul after ca. 1/2 hour running. Air filter had 1 inch of water raising the oil level........

If my sediment bowl is getting too dirty, there can be a fuel restriction somewhere that lets enough fuel through to run a low rpm, but I get power loss and missing when I try to throttle up. Then I clean the sediment bowl and screen, the fuel line, and the screen in the elbow going into the carb. I also drain the carb bowl and rinse it out by spraying carb cleaner in the in where the line connects.

when you pull back if it chugs black and stumbles it may be way rich.. look at tail pipe and read spark plugs to verify this.. if so, back off mainjet 1/8 turn at a time till it don't stumble all over itself.. yet doesn't falter under load of taking off

I cant find your email.. I tried adjusting the carb like the book says and my adjustment screw dosnt do anything.. I can back it all the way out or tighten it all the way and nothing. It starts right up and idle no prob... No power at full throttle and back fires... and pops through the carb like too much fuel..
