Porter Cable Jigsaw

I have this saw that is the most well built saw with speed control and orbit control switches on it. The blades have a 90 degree hook on the top end, different than a regular jig saw blade. I'm running out of blades and need some new ones. Anyone else have one of these? And can you use the regular jigsaw blades in them? Preferrably bi-metal. I forget the model number but, it's a Porter Cable. ohfred

My porter cable jigsaw uses T shank blades. Doesn't really sound like what you are describing though. I have had mine about 10 years or so.

Is yours a much older model?

Sounds like a hook shank blade to me. Does it look like this?

If so, click the link below. The first group listed are bi-metal.

Thanks, Boy I'm glad to hear that. I bought the saw used but, Maybe I can figure it out or buy the change over kit. ohfred

Bill, I can't tell how old it is, it doesn't look too old, variable speed and variable orbit (feed per stroke) guess that's why the previous owner let it go.(Blades) I've had it a good while and it had a few blades with it.
I went on the internet and seen several places selling them...Bi-metal 5 pks and I picked the cheapest one, $8.57 plus shipping. Then I seen that it was in New York and it was that price for one blade. I'll find a decent dealer and get some for wood and metal. Thanks again to all who pitched in some of their time and knowledge. ohfred
