Poulan chain saw

My trouble free saw for 11 years is now wanting to run wide open as soon as it starts. IT still starts the same but at high rpm. It will bog when I start to cut and I have to give it some throttle to make it cut. Any one help me with this? Thanks,Sam.

Fuel mixture getting to the cylinder is lean. Could be any number of problems. Carb, pin hole in fuel line, etc. If you are not running oil with fuel treatment in it, it is likley your carb.
On the other hand, if the fuel lines have not been replaced it's time. Don't run it lean though because it will score the cylinder. Also check that your carb mounting screws are tight.

Wecome to the forum.
There are many knoledgeble people here that can help you out.
You need to post more info though.
Model of the saw for one.
I'll take a guess? It may be as simple as a stuck carburetor plate or a binding linkcage.
Any adjustmenst on the carburetor for the mix?
High speed 0ne turn out, low speeed 1.1/2 turn out as initial adjustments.
Guido.

There is a rubber gasket thingy that is between the carb and the head. It can get loose and cause this problem.
