Advertisement in Princess Auto, (Canada) Poulan Chain Saw's 34 cc, 16" bar, $117.00. Is this a good purchase ? Don't require a replacement saw at this time, but if it's a good buy, can't pass on a good deal. What is your opinion? Any good for cutting bushes ? Cheers, Murray

i have heard more bad things than good about poulan chainsaws never owned one or used one.i am kinda curious myself about what some of the other guys have to say. RICK

I have had one of the small discount Poulan saws
was excellent for trimming and small brush, only
complaint was very small capacity on fuel tank. Bought mine from sportsmans guide catalog out of
minneapolis minnesota

I have had good service from my 18" Poulan. $149. with case, oil and extra chain. Must have owned at least 8 years by now. Good homeowners saw.

This post will get a lot of different opinions. We had a Poulan, bought new in the early 80's. I have the saw (Dad passed away) and hope to get it operational again. It had a HARD life, still runs, just needs carb rebuild, tune-up, and new seal or pump for the bar oiler.

I've also had the "box store" Poulan home-owner saw and wasn't impressed. I burned it up trying to take out a stump in the backyard.

The older Poulan's were a VERY good product. I don't have anything good to say about the newer ones.

This is my personal experience with Poulan chainsaws. Your mileage will vary.

It is a shame you can"t get saws from about ten or twenty years ago. A lot of stuff still had some Brass if you know what I mean. I have a lot of McCullochs from ten years and older. The 650 saws were a gold standard with those babys!!! Stick with a good husky! Jeffcat

Only Poulan saw I have had was given to me. Did run if you wanted to say it did run and cut several smaller trees up. Gave it away on a deal to fix two other saws. Today it is known as a box saw for lite usage. Add a few bucks and get a little better saw.

I have a poulan pro VT220 16" chain saw for aoubt 6 years, I cut about 15 stacked pickup loads of firewood a year with it. Plus lots of other cleanup work.
I have worn out a few bars and one oil pump, and a souple of sprockets, but it still starts fine idles good and cuts well. about $50 in parts outside of bars and chains.
I have never had to touch the carb. In all truth the little saw still has the factory origional spark plug in it.

No complaints from me on Poulan.
