Power beyond on a 185

I"ve got a late model 185 that I"m getting ready to install a loader on. I"d like to set up a joystick control for it, to keep my remotes freed up.

An allis mechanic I spoke with said that he doesn"t know of a power beyond block that was ever made for the 185. He advised me to split the pressure line under the belly of the tractor, and plumb an open center valve inline.

Has anyone done this? Are there any potential pitfalls? I"m coming up really short on information for this. All of the 185"s with loaders that I"ve seen locally were running off of the remotes.

Some loaders have their own reservoirs on them (AC400 or AC500 loader). Why not find the front pump set-up to run off the crankshaft and keep the loader hydraulics separate from the remote. Ran a D17 years ago with that set-up and was trouble free for 25 years.
