Would like to put power steering pump on oliver 770.This wouldmount above generator would like to know what common pump to buy fromn O'rielys or Auto Zone. Ford or Chevy DONOT WANT TO CUT SHEET METAL.Can anybody tell me what they used? Thanks

They had a pump that ran right off the back of the generator. It's obsolete through Agco, but is the same as some Delco generators on that same vintage of GM autos.

To me that is a kind of general statement. What type are you thinking of adding: A charlynn unit or a hydrostatic unit off of an Oliver 770 or 880? The later Oliver 770 units used a seperate pump and they had a hole in the hood complete with rubber grommet and everything. That way it would look factory.

I bought an old generator at a junk yard off of a '57 Chevy. Same pump and works well. This would be for a Gemmer system.

Yup, the 57 chevy had the same generator pump combo. When mine died, I got a pump from a ford car, made a platform and bracket and mounted it to some bolt holes in the tub on the right side. Got a double pulley from an 88 and power the pump off the extra pulley. It's not real pretty, but it works. If your looking to make it look original, you'll need to find the 57 chevy pump.

They used an Eaton built pump. Most farmers complained about checking the oil level on them so we altered them with a fill tube through the hood. Put a grommet arount the fill tube and it will look factors. I will need to think about how we did the dipstick. Me: I would go hydrostatic.

If you want a pump like that look at some old Mustang parts suppliers catalog. I think the pulleys are different size. Mustang can turn a few more RPM's. J.

Heres how I mounted my chevy P/S pump when the gen mounted one went bad, looks good and didnt cut any tin work. Used a longer belt and ran everything together.
