I need a power steering line for the left side of the tractor (sitting on the seat) that goes from the steering sector box to the inside line on the cylinder. Anybody know where I may find one. This is on a Ford 871 tractor.

Is the hose bad and you still have the ends/fittings? A good hydraulic shop can take the ends, braze new hose crimps on them and replace the hose.

Mike Smith (in Michigan) may be able to help. You can make your own like I did, be aware it's a double flair. Here's a Utube link:

Hobo NC, Are those lines made from 3/16" copper nickel? Nice job!!
I think they are 1/4"? on this one I used green Poly Armour. Poly Armour is difficult to work with the last one I did I used NiCopp Nickel/Copper line its user friendly. A hand held double flaring tool is cheap learn how to double flair brake line you will save money learn a new technique and have a much nicer job. Throw in a pair of brake line bending plyers you will same money over those ugly rubber hoses. Yon can save the line nuts off the old line and reuse them are get new nuts.

I have posted this repair several times on different Fords I hace did this on several 3000's YT new system makes it hard to search.

Thank you Hobo, NC

I put a comment in that video.

I own some expensive flaring tools I can still do as good job with the one in your video. I use the first one like this I brought in the 70's every once in awhile just to remind me how good it works. Don't give up this can be mastered.

@3:45 I did the same with the bolt I mount the tool in a vice just like he does.
Pay attention to what he says @ 5:00 to 6:00 about oil and when to use it.
Practice Practice Practice this can be mastered.

I would be concerned about solid lines flexing and eventually cracking. The cylinders move with every steer, maybe not a lot, but thousands of times over the course of a year if the tractor is in use.

They came from the factory with steel most are still in use. Steel has an indefinite life rubber does not. All the issues I have seen with steel are a rub thru. Your pick'em up steel brake lines flex every time you drive it how's that working out fer ya. To do all you are looking at 12ft of brake line lets say $24 and a flair tool $20 to $75 depending on the tool you buy. It looks like a set of rubber lines will run $170.00 plus shipping. If one is skeered buy this tool on amazon.
