I put power steering on my 850 with no problems installing it. I had to make all the lines and replace one cylinder. So, if you have the lines it will be an easier install. After the install it was leaking at the top of the steering column because it had been sitting a long time. Once I got the leaks fixed it worked pretty good, not as easy as newer steering on tractors but not bad.

Rebuild the control valve before installation.

Inexpensive and easy with valve not yet installed.

Replace seals and inspect shaft at same time.

Might want to inspect cylinders before installation. Most leak badly internally. Certainly invert and stroke to remove as much gunk and water as possible.

Leave PS belt very loose upon start-up to prevent cylinder damage if you have crossed lines.

I really like the power steering on my 861. Seems expensive when you add the PS unit and start reconditioning the parts but they work well when everything is correct. Mine leaks little if any fluid and rarely needs any added. I need to replace some seals in the unit on my 4000, it does leak. Worth the expense and time if you're going to keep and use the tractor in my opinion.
