power steering pump 01 series

If I was going to flush one of those I would crack both lines on both PS cylinders.
Put a pan under them and with the engine idling roll the steering wheel lock to lock and let the lines puke out all the oil. Keep adding fresh oil till you get clear fluid coming out of the lines then seal them back up. I would also install a new PS filter in the reservoir.
I use 134D oil in my PS system - same thing I use in the tranny and rear end.

ditto what the other guys said.

in fact.. if it woun't pass oil ibecause the filter is plugged, remove old filter and if you don't want to buy a 2nd one.. wash that one in diesel and alcohol mixed, and then reinstall.. ad some alcohol and dielse to the ps system as you add new oil. not much.. few ounces should do to disolve any emulsified oil and water in there.. run till clean.. then change that filter.

use whatever cheap oil you have to flush.. ie.. hyd oil or whatever.. but then refill with a 134 equivalent.

To flush you take the return loose at the pump,,, plug the return at the pump,,, put the return in a bucket,,, run the engine and keep the reservoir full,,, by myself i fill the pump,,, crank the engine for 3 seconds are so shut off and refill as many times as it takes to clean it up... I do not want the fluid to aerate (run out and get air bound)... if you have a helper it goes/works better...

You will never clean thinks up crack'n a line sorry that's the way it is...
