Power steering pump Ford 4000

So I just opened the PS reservoir on my new to me 64 4000 and noticed some things were missing. Here’s a nice pic. I’m pretty sure I’m SOL and will have to run it this way. I know I can buy a filter, make a retainer, but the filter support is no where to be found online and I’m not going to drop any cash on a rebuilt pump. If anyone has any leads for that filter support let me know but I just wanted to share this along with my pain.

I'm assuming that your tractor is some version of a 1964 4000 series tractor. They all seemed to use Eaton pumps, but the parts inside the reservoir varied with the exact model. There is some hope for finding replacement parts. Ford cars and trucks of that era also used Eaton power steering pumps. Some aftermarket parts are available to antique car and truck fans. It is likely that Ford used the same parts for tractors as they used for cars and trucks. If you could find a decent picture of the "filter support" you are seeking, you might find the aftermarket car equivalent on a website like

Here are a couple pics of the parts I’m talking about. The diagram shows all three and the picture shows the filter support. I’ve been a little confused because, like you mentioned, I’ve seen the same pump with a slight difference in internal components. I have the service manual and it calls for one set of parts for then industrial tractor, which I have, bs the general purpose tractors. Well what the manual says doesn’t match what messicks says for the same 4130 tractor. Anyway, thanks for the tips on the car and truck PS pumps. I’ll dig around there and check out your link.
